Battlefield Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds Battlefield Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds is located in Central Virginia. Our dogs represent US. PLEASE LIKE AND FOLLOW US!

We selected our name to represent our wonderful American roots. Battlefield provides HEALTHY Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds who grow to be amazingly talented dogs. We are ethical, reputable, responsible, and show breeding stock to prove compliance to the standards of the breeds. Our dogs are lovingly raised at our home as part of the family. We live on 3 beautiful wooded acr

es in the country. Puppies are raised with plenty of stimulation to the environment via sounds, touches, and smells. We use PUPPY CULTURE to help the puppy to be the best it can be. We work on manding with the puppies as well as starting clicker training. Puppies beginning crate training and potty training. Many puppies are fully potty trained before they leave and have no aversions to the crate at night. We provide their 8 weeks 5-way vaccination per state requirements and are dewormed throughout their time with us. Our puppies are introduced to "BATHES" and the dryer. We begin nail trimming at 2 weeks of age. We have pet and show prospects available to loving homes. Our dogs have had all their health testing done from CEA,PRA,HC, DM, MDR1, to the REQUIRED hip and elbow xrays at 2 years of age,OFA, and CERF eye exam by a licensed vet ophthalmologist. We only breed our dogs when testing is complete. INTEGRITY AND TRANSPARENCY are everything. We stand behind our dogs and what we do. We don't have litter after litter all year long. We selectively breed our dogs to create the best match. Form follows function. These dogs are not for everyone. Please research the breeds before contacting us. Ours can do their intended jobs which means they are athletic and active. This is not a couch potato breed. We also match our puppies to their owners. We are a field representative of Life's Abundance and our puppies eat this food for at least the first 2 years of life.

Buggy will tell you a secret…..

Good morning all!

We planned on repeating Bailey breeding or breed Candy in October. However, great plans can be interrupted.

Bailey went into heat too early and frozen semen is not ready to send. So, we will miss that breeding.

Candy still has lots of fur drop and not cycle yet but cook happen, but I have to ship fresh semen. I want her to get fur back due to possibility of colder than normal winter here in the east. So most likely that will not happen.

I have several on the waiting list and are putting down deposits to hold for a spring litter.

We only have 1-3 litters a year. I work as a teacher and value puppy rearing as very important. That means, I spend time with my puppies not shove them in an xpen on shavings. My area is sanitized daily with Little Wolf pans or artificial grass which is changed three times a day and floor mopped and steamed. I take health very seriously.

I also play with puppies when I am home for several hours for stimulation and desensitize them. It shows in the puppies I produce.

All my puppies are registered. No puppy is left unregistered.

Most state laws are in place to protect our doggies. If a breeder says they had no idea a license was needed, that is simply not true. All breeders should educate themselves on their state and local dog laws. We always were a noncommercial licensed kennel not because I needed to, but because I wanted to be. I only have 9 dogs, several spay, so they are not even part of a breeding program. I do not need that noncommercial status anymore. However, just like any other breeder, transparency and integrity is important.

Because I am not a breeder pumping out litters for income and never will be, we decided that the October breeding for one litter will not happen. We have only produced 6 puppies this year, two puppies I am raising for showing. After the girl is finished, she can be available to a show home not an exclusive breeding facility that has more than 4 litters a year. I respect the dogs and want them to have a great life after showing.

Yes. My dogs are raised with cats and get along. However, any cat outside is a squirrel. It is termination time. 🤣🤣

Some were behind me but didn’t want to stop the moment!🤣.

I was making bagels this morning and dogs were in and out of house, so I wore them out.

Our Story

https://goo.gl/JvrX2p Our website that can be reached via Facebook.

Battlefield is a quality Australian Shepherds and Miniature American Shepherds found in the heart of Virginia. We are ethical, reputable, responsible, and show breeding stock to prove compliance to the standards of the breeds. All health clearances done on breeding dogs with health guarantees.

We do not put too many expectations on our buyer families. But we do ask that we place the right dog with the right family. While we understand you want a blue eyed merle female, that blue eyed merle female might not be the best fit. We expect all to take puppies to the vet for their 48 hour pet check, keep all vaccines current, take puppies to socialization and puppy obedience, and keep use up to date with changes and pictures. Boy, do we love those pictures.

We embarked on a new adventure with Life’s Abundance products. Our puppies must stay on the dog food until they are two. If you want a Battlefield puppy, this is a requirement. All our dogs use these products and can tell you this is why they look so good!
