Flint, Bailey, Poppy playing in fresh snow early this morning.
Bailey needs 4 points for her championship. She has been sitting out since August. She will be showing at WEst Friendship shows in January with Brittany Cipriotti. I can’t go due to my knee. I can walk with Poppy, so she will start training and show in March. Poppy literally looks like Bailey’s daughter. 🤣🤣
Bailey is half sister to Poppy. Kim is Sara.
Poppy is 15” and Bailey’s twin pretty much.
Muddy mats under their blankets from Aldi!
Inside is toasty and warm.
Flint just came inside after running in snow.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I shoveled the boardwalk myself letting dogs out to play and go potty. Currently, they are in their dry kennels getting exercise. Then, back in the heated dog building they go with muddy mats and new Sherpa blankets in there run.
Get the cheaper muddy mats on Amazon. They are cheaper and do the same thing.
But look at who pulled out the snow blower when I was doing all the work!!!
Dogs are out in covered runs for an hour. Just remember, those are heated dog houses. Don’t go all PETA on me🤣🤣🤣 .
Now with Goo able to have a place to potty, I feel better. I had to rescue him as he only had his head above the snow. With his age and arthritis in his knees, he couldn’t move. I still don’t know why he went into the yard. I think it is habit. He was almost to where you see the garden and got stuck. Out I went to get him and poor baby was crying. All the others were having zoomies!!!
Nick is loving his new home with Andrea and her husband! But he now has a little boy to grow up with as he gets older! Jack comes twice a week to grandma’s house which will thrill Nicky!
Thank you Andrea for being such a great fit.
Back out again today. Getting new dog beds for the dogs, so now I can wash the others and put in clean ones once every few weeks. Poppy now has the circle bed and Goo gets an orthopedic one for his arthritis paws! It will go on my coffee table.
Video of their first day out. Sitting on gravel hurts your butt. lol.
The good thing, the limestone gravel will keep bugs down. Bad thing, their coats feel dusty now.
Big expense. Really big.
Gotta wash all the beds and throw away ones with holes again. What we do on the weekends in the heat
Time to strip out your dogs. You would be surprised at how packed the undercoat can’t get.
1. Use a coat rake and rake thoroughly. (Goo got the Marrs stripped because his was just too thick)
2. Bathe with a good deshed shampoo and massage for a while. The pour needs to open to release dead coat.
3. Rinse with a strong head on your hose to remove dead undercoat. Wash again then again.
4. Condition. Brush through.
5. Line comb the left over undercoat out while your dog is on side. Spray with conditioning spray and gently comb the undercoat out just like you would do your own hair. Hit a mat. Gentle work through the mat a little at a time.
6. Lastly, brush and blow dry.
7. Trim feet, nub, ears.
So Goo got a huge trim. But he is so happy. He probably will freeze tonight. I only shaped his head, ears, nub, and feet. I tidied the feathers due to him licking his legs from arthritis. Yes. The red color on his legs is from arthritis licking. It does not bother me. I keep it clean.
He doesn’t look 13 does he? He looks like a puppy. 🤣🤣
Guess who? ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Sara has a full tummy. Puppies will be born the first week of July. I will be keeping one as well as stud owner. We are both thrilled!!!
