This adorable wiggly gal arrived stray with another dog, she is sweet as can be, would love to be in a home with a canine companion and has passed initial cat test testing. She is estimated to be around two years of age, and is spayed and heartworm negative. Please consider bringing any other dogs in the household for a meet and greet, tomorrow between noon and four. We are pretty sure that if you meet her, you will fall in love as we have. Please also remember if planning to bring home a new dog, a non-retractable leash and collar would be great to bring along if you have one.
Stunning Phoebe is a Mastiff boxer mix available at the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter. She has been so very patient in waiting for someone to discover how smart and wonderful she is. Phoebe would love a home where her person works from home or is home often, as she does have a little bit of separation anxiety. She is not a fan of the crate and does her best in breaking out, but at the same time, is trustworthy in the home for short periods of time. Phoebe is fine with other dogs but needs to be the only dog in her home. She can walk in the same vicinity as other friends, but plays entirely too rough and gets over zealous in her play style. She would be good with kids, as she is very gentle around them and has been greeted by kids on various walks. Phoebe is good about getting her exercise out and then knowing how to relax and chill out inside. If you are interested in our gorgeous girl Phoebe, please come meet her between 12:00 and 4:00pm in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Aggie, approximately 5 to 6 years, is house trained, good with other dogs, cats, and children. Aggie’s foster home, adores her, however, they work longer hours and feel she would be happiest in a home where she can get more attention. Aggie is just about the sweetest girl. If there is no other dog in the home, hopefully she will have kids or humans around often to share love and affection. Please email [email protected] to tell Aggie why your home might be her perfect fit.
Meatball and Noodles came to us as strays and have shown they are completely bonded. We don't know if they are brother and sister, or mother and son, but they for sure love each others' company. Meatball is especially enamored with Noodles, as we discovered when we briefly had them separated to give them baths. He was whining the entire time for Noodles when she was getting her bath. As soon as she came back, he was showing excitement, licking and loving all over her. He loves to play with her, and she tolerates his goofy play style. She will often correct him if he gets too silly. They are kenneled together and walk great on a leash together. We are not sure how they are with cats, as we have not tested them yet. They love attention from humans and are incredibly grateful that we have kept them together in the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter. Now we just need your help to share their post and help them find a home and loving family. You can meet Meatball and Noodles tomorrow between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
This handsome guy has been with us since the middle of September with no adoption interest. He’s super sweet natured, does well with other dogs, on the smaller side, and ready to find his forever home. Please consider coming to meet/adopt him today before four. If you have any other dogs in the household, make sure to bring them with you for a meet and greet.
Harley not only has the best ears around, he's also one of the bestest boys. Harley is house trained, crate trained and has lived with other dogs and children in his previous home. Harley's foster parents adore him and say he's such a great and easy foster to have. Harley needs a cat free home, and because of this, when he had to leave NC due to the hurricane, he landed in our shelter as his human only had somewhere to go that already had cats. If looking for an awesome family pup, and you have no feline friends, Harley might be a great fit. Email [email protected] if you might like to consider adding handsome Harley to your household.
4 year old Robin has been with us for OVER TWO YEARS at the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter. He is a gentle guy but has a unique need for his potential home. Robin tends to guard "his person" once in a home. He is totally fine if he's with a group of people outside of his residence. He is also good with other dogs and has a submissive personality with them. A life with Robin will mean that he will need to be put away in a room if company comes over. Robin is not a high energy dog but loves his time in the play yard. He would appreciate a yard to run around and explore in and the opportunity for attention and love. He's like a love sponge with people he knows and trusts. Robin does have a playful side to him as you can see in the video, but he's mostly very calm and just wants to be loved. We believe he is a Catahoula Leopard Dog and weighs about 60 pounds, currently. Robin is not destructive in the home and has proven to be trustworthy outside the crate, but does sleep in one just fine. You can meet Robin Tuesdays through Saturdays between 12 and 4 in Fredericksburg, Va.
Harley, 3 years, has also been one of the ones flying under the radar. This handsome fella does well with dogs and children, he simply needs a cat free home. Harley is one of the many dogs that ended up in our area after the hurricanes, as his mom had to move back home, but due to his inability to live with cats, Harley found himself without a home. Harley is house and crate trained, great on lead, has a medium energy level output need. Harley would make a wonderful companion for most any home free of cats. PLEASE SHARE and if Harley and his adorable ears have captured your heart, please email [email protected] to tell him a bit about his potential forever home.
Our Beagle boys are still here looking for their forever homes. Please consider stopping by today before four, if you have any other dogs, please bring them for a meet and greet. They would love a foster, even if you’re not ready to adopt.
We have discovered that Three loves collecting toys along the way, and will often times put more than one in is mouth and carry them around. Three came to us as an emaciated stray and is learning to take treats gently. He currently is a bit too snappy taking them for us to comfortably place him in a home with kids, but he is a fun and sweet dog. A little more work with this and he will likely be a great dog for an active family. Three is very submissive with other dogs and loves to play. He is eager to please and will do well with continued training and socialization. Three is around 1 to 2 years old and is an underweight 40 ish pounds. He walks well on a leash and loves toys. Please come visit Three today between 12 and 4 at the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter in Fredericksburg, VA.
This absolute lovebug is waiting patiently for his forever home. He came in as a stray with a collar and some basic training, indicating he has had an owner in the past, although no one came to claim him. 24-2024, in need of a name, loves to be outside and does well on a leash. He enjoys the play yard, too, and is respectful of the fence. He’s a big puppy, really, and likes to spend equal time running around, as he does giving love to whomever's there with him. 2024 adores people and seems to be good with other dogs. He's very gentle despite his tall, lanky size and takes treats with ease. 2024 is an estimated 2 years old and 50 pounds, although he definitely needs to put on some healthy weight. If you're looking for a goofy, loving boy, please come into the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter to meet 24-2024 this morning from 12-4 pm.
This adorable girl, approximately a year old, was abandoned outside of the Spca along with Max that we featured earlier. She too, will be available on Saturday, and would love to have a family waiting to bring her home. She would be fine living with cat friendly dogs, other cats would be wonderful as well. Please consider stopping by to meet her between noon and four Thursday and Friday so that she could go home with you first thing on Saturday. ❤️
