Remember the two dogs we posted about last week, the ones from the latest cruelty case? Chance found his forever family this past weekend and now it’s Charm's turn!!
Charm is very affectionate and LOVES to play. She will thrive in a home with other dogs!! She wants to be everyone’s friend.
She is still a puppy learning to feel safe in her crate and is working on house manners.

Kris Kristofferson is such a good boy! He has been on outings with volunteers and has great reviews. He walks well on a leash and is very well mannered. He gets along with other dogs at the center and has loved all the humans so far. We cannot wait to see which lucky family gets to take him home!
Mama Amren came from a rural shelter in Virginia. Sometimes just being a block head pregnant girl is a death sentence. Luckily an ODHS foster said she could step up and take her and her unborn babies . . .
Surprise surprise 15 babies came a couple weeks later. FIFTEEN! All of them are doing well and thriving!
In just a few weeks we will be dividing them up 2-3 per foster home until they finish their vaccine series, get spayed or neutered, microchippped, and off to their furever homes at ten weeks of age.
Would you like to help?! We are looking for foster homes, donations of wet food, and of course money to help with their vetting.
Dogs come to ODHS from all types of backgrounds and sometimes they just don't quite "know how to dog." Being in a foster home with other dogs can help them grow in confidence and learn the ropes before they find their forever home.
Fezzik is discovering how to get the best snacks. Fezzik has realized that he really doesn't love playing in the yard so he does his business and comes back inside. While he is the only dog inside his Foster Mom spoils him with the good treats. He carried the snack around, repeatedly bringing it to his foster mom to show her, before realizing that he was supposed to eat it!!
ODHS volunteers are the best in the WORLD! We have the greatest people who help with the mission to give the dogs the best chance at a forever home. Everyone comes with their own strengths and we are happy to capitalize on all of their amazing talents. Today we would love to thank our dedicated volunteer Tracy who used her website design skills and gave ODHS an online makeover that we are thrilled with! Our pups are grateful for all of our volunteers in all of the different ways they help.
