This is Molly one of our employees pets, she was a 10 year old Labrador who was suffering with the pain of Osteoarthritis. Her day to day was limited and she constantly would walk with a limp due to the pain and overall didnā€™t see very comfortable.
She was started on librela and a week after the first injection she started running again which she hadnā€™t done in a very long time! Librela helped with her daily pain and discomfort to improve her quality of life.
While Molly has since passed her last few months were spent pain free and happy running around and swimming which she thoroughly enjoyed.

If you notice at home your dog dealing with any signs of Osteoarthritis please contact us and schedule an appointment to discuss these concerns and see if this would be a good fit for your pet.
Also if youā€™ve started your dog on Librela we would love to see them now, weā€™ve had so many great wonder stories with this injection and we cannot wait to see how many more there are to come. ā¤ļø

As our dogs get older we tend to notice them starting to slow down and seem to have more difficulties with things they used to enthusiastically do everyday. If youā€™ve noticed these signs there is a chance your dog could be suffering from Osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common causes of chronic pain in older pets. It is estimated that 20% of adult dogs suffer from OA pain, with that number jumping to 75% in medium and large sized dogs. Signs of OA can include difficulty getting up and down, difficulty with stairs, and tiring more quickly during walks.

Unfortunately there is no cure for osteoarthritis which is why itā€™s important that we can properly notice the signs of it and intervene where we can. If your dog is showing signs of Osteoarthritis just know there are options such as; Librela.

Librela Is the First and Only Monthly Injectable Monoclonal Antibody Therapy for Dogs With OA Pain. This has been shown and proven to reduce the pain caused by osteoarthritis, increas activity levels in our senior dogs and overall helps improve the quality of life they have.

Today 9/17/2024 we are experiencing a power outage including our telephones at the hospital due to a fallen power line. We are not expecting power until 2-5pm.
We are still running our appointments and day-to-day business during this time.
Please be patient with us as we do not have access to most of our technologies needed.
If you are having a pet emergency please contact an emergency veterinarian and if you need to reach us please email or call. If you cannot reach a staff member please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as we physically can.

Thank you from the Hartwood team

Today, Banner's Hallmark of Stafford brought in numerous inspiring cards for everyone at the Sheriff's Office, and K-9 gift bags. They were able to bring in so many cards thanks to the help of Girl Scout Troop 711, ST. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stafford Lions Club, Colonial Forge Leo Club, ST. Luke's Church, Hartwood Animal Hospital, and the amazing citizens of Stafford who wanted to show their support. Thank you all for such a kind and meaningful drop off.

Hi everyone, one of our families who brings their animals to our clinic is looking for a new home for Libby their puppy, if you are at all interested please contact us and we will get more information from her current owner.

Here are some words and photos from her current family:

I am looking to re-home Libby. She came to me as a stray puppy in March. She was not collared or microchipped, and had tested positive for parvo and worms. We quarantined her in our home and she made a full recovery.

She is estimated to be approximately 5 months old now. She has been fully vaccinated and is on preventative heartworm and flea/tick medications. She has also been microchipped.

She is a wonderful puppy with an amazing temperament. She is happy, energetic and very loving. She loves to cuddle, play and go for walks. She is quite intelligent and curious and responds beautifully to training.

Libby is not negatively reactive to other dogs and loves human companionship. She is also great in the car. She is great with our male dog and our children.

We had attempted to integrate her into our household but our female dog is unwilling to accept her and, unfortunately, we believe re-homing her is for the best for our dogs and for Libby.

Happy Easter to all that celebrate! šŸ°

Letā€™s keep all of our furry friends safe during this day and making sure they donā€™t eat anything they shouldnā€™t! Also no table scraps of any kind we donā€™t need any GI upset on a holiday thatā€™s likely to be spent outside!

Also fun fact that easter is the most common time for Rabbits to be purchased. Unfortunately a lot of our bunny friends that are adopted during this time end up being released into the wild or rehomed because of the care these cute furry friends require.
Rabbits are a tiny horses in your household and love to CHEW! Do your research before getting a bunny to make sure it fits your life style! šŸ°
