With the 4th of July holiday and all its fun coming up here are a few safety tips for our furry friends!

1. Ensure all pets have their IDs, which can include collars with names and phone numbers or have been microchipped.
2. Exercise early in the day before the heat and festivities start, wether that be a long walk or fetch session in the yard!
3. Have a special place inside that is just for them with toys and cozy blankets in which they feel safe!
4. Keep them inside during the firework displays and celebrations.
5. Keep the food and drinks out of reach, as many human foods can be toxic to pets.
6. Anxiety medications are always an option if your pet needs extra help with staying chill. There are a variety of products available for use and we would be happy to discuss these options with you!

Here at Salt Creek we have many wonderful graduates off to do big and amazing things with their futures and we can’t wait to watch them thrive!! 🤩🎓

Julieona Erbe, graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College this past Saturday! She is now transferring to Kansas State University to pursue her Bachelors degree and apply to Veterinary School! Julie has been a part of the clinic family since 2021 and we are SO incredibly proud of her! She is a bright and hard working student and we know she will continue to do great things!

Toryn Spohn, graduated from Fredonia High School this previous Saturday! She is now attending Wichita State University to pursue her degree in the veterinary technician program! Toryn first started at the clinic last summer, continued with work study during the school year and now works for us any chance she gets between caring for her animals and being very involved in school! We cannot wait to see what she accomplishes!

Shelby Smith, graduated from Fredonia High School this last Saturday as well! She will go on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Kansas State University! Shelby first started at the clinic in August during work study and has recently completed it this spring! She has an infectious smile and is very involved with 4H amongst other activities! We are wishing her all the best in her new endeavors!

🎉🎊 HUGE Congratulations to our very own Nicole Blackwill, DVM on graduating from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine!!! Nicole grew up in Fredonia where she graduated high school in 2017. She then attended Fort Hays State University where she received her Bachelors degree in 2020 and went on to attend the University of Missouri. She now lives in Fredonia with her beloved corgi, Annee. In her free time she enjoys running, hanging out with Annee, and reading. Nicole has a special interest in bovine reproduction and equine ambulatory medicine. Congratulations Dr. Nicole!!! 🎉🎊

World Veterinary Day is usually at the end of April, but one of our favorite doctors will be welcoming her newest bundle of joy then! 🤍 Our amazing technicians and staff celebrated our veterinarians a tad early with delicious food and the best gifts!! 🥳
