I try to satisfy all color preferences, but tend to do more in earth and jewel tones; which I love. The dying is done at the farm, mainly by myself, with an occasional family member or fiber friend lending a hand. I do several Fiber events a year, have a shop here at the farm and recently added an on line store. The things I offer for sale are natural and hand dyed yarn, fiber in roving, batts and dyed locks, home made soap and lotion bars, goat milk lotion. In closing I would like to say how thankful and blessed I feel to have the opportunity to work from home doing something that I love. With much support from family, friends and wonderful customers it is possible.

Good morning everyone!

I am offering something a little different this summer at Longmeadow Farm.

Have you ever wanted to dye the yarn a specific color for a special sweater project? Now you can! I have several natural bases in various weight’s waiting to be transformed into your very own one of kind creation. Purchase the yarn from Longmeadow, spend time with me in the dye shed and we will make it happen. Allow a few hours for the process.

Come with friends or come alone. Small groups are welcome together. Everything you need for the dyeing will be provided. Don’t delay, It would be my pleasure to assist and teach you my dyeing techniques.

Call or message me for your appointment.
We are also available for shopping hours in the Woolroom by appointment.

I have two days with guests scheduled and could accommodate a couple more each of theses days. Sunday July 21 and Tuesday July 23rd.

What do I do while recuperating from a hip replacement surgery, make my hand plied jumbo skeins. Unable to stand for any extended period of time, I am filling some hours plying that luxurious merino, yak and silk. Did an hour of dyeing today also! 👏.
Expecting to be better then ever soon, watch out world!!! 😂

I love this yellow peony bush I got last year or the year before. I can’t remember the name and the tag is probably buried under the bush branches. It didn’t do much last year but this year it’s amazing. 😁

We love our Liberty Ridge Ellie Mae!

Sunny Bixby is at Liberty Ridge farm and Gardens. Taffy has 8 beautiful black and white border collies that are 4 weeks old. ABCA registered. Some of them will be at the CNY Fiberfest next weekend for viewing. ❤️🥰❤️

Shearing day! What a workout type of day, but oh so very rewarding. 😮‍💨 19 new fleece to skirt.🙃

Thanks to my awesome shearer and husband we
got them done. Now we wait for our time at the mill so more fabulous farm yarns can be enjoyed.

New stock! I just received my 2ply dk from the mill. This is a blend I have had made for about four years now. I’m sorry my sweater quantities of this have been very low, but fear not I have oodles of it to dye now. 4oz. 315 yards each. Any colors your hearts are bleeding for???
As always Stonehedge Fibers did a FANTASTIC job spinning the wool. So grateful to work with them to produce beautiful yarn for you all to enjoy! 🥰

Our Story

Hi, my name is Sandy Long I reside in a small town called Freedom, with my husband Tom, a small flock of Romney and Natural Colored Longwool Sheep, and a few other farm animals and pets.
