All of our dogs are raised 100% indoors as part of the family. All puppies born with us are UTD on all vet work, come with appropriate AKC paperwork (if applicable), a health guarantee and lifetime breeder support. All puppies are raised indoors and are well socialized from day 1.

We have eyes mostly open and the drunk puppy walk has started 🥰
It’s so bittersweet knowing she’s the last baby I will have. Breeding Danes has brought me so many friends and so many happy memories.
This sweet girl will be extra spoiled while I try to get every baby Dane cuddle out of my system (pretty sure that’s not possible but I’ll sure try 🥺)

I absolutely love raising these babies, but it is HARD!

**Not written by me. Just shared but couldn't have said it better beacuse truth be told we have been through tough decisions, lost our beloved pets and babies**

EDUCATION TIME!

No preamble this time. We’re getting right into it.

Breeding is traumatic. Read that again. Breeding. Is. Traumatic.

At some point when you breed you will experience trauma. It might be your first litter, it might be your fifteenth. If you breed with any sort of longevity…you will experience trauma.

I have had to go through things that have scarred me for life, things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies

You will lose puppies.
You will lose one of your girls.
You will lose both at the same time.
You will loose dogs
People will be cruel to your dogs and not all buyers will keep in contact no matter how much you try.

You will deal with human beings who won’t like you because you won’t sell them a dog, because you breed animals they don’t like, Any number of reasons, really.

You will deal with the stress of vet bills when an unexpected whelping complication occurs. You will deal with overzealous mamas who get urine burns on their lips. You will have Years that no matter what you try your girls won't take or they reabsorb litters.

You will deal with animals you bred being sick, despite how hard you tried to avoid it. You will deal with upset owners who were expecting perfection because unrealistic standards are ascribed to breeders who health test and title.

I make no apologies for the dogs I’ve bred over the years. I have regrets and sadness over certain occurrences, but I am not sorry for the dogs I’ve created who bring their owners joy.

I have experienced trauma, I have many sleepless nights and tears, but I also find joy in what I do.

If you choose to breed, you will too. And you need to decide how much you can take.

🛑 What Are The Risks of early Spay/Neuter?
We are often ask this question, so let’s dive in and take a look.
Desexing removes hormone-producing organs (the ovaries or testicles) that researchers are now finding are actually quite important to overall health. Studies also indicate that the earlier a puppy is spayed or neutered, the greater the likelihood of health problems later in life. Here are examples of studies evidencing some of these potential issues.
❗️BONE ABNORMALITIES
Studies showed that the hormone estrogen, which is no longer produced in spayed or neutered dogs, plays a crucial role in bone growth and development. The removal of estrogen-producing organs in immature dogs can cause growth plates to remain open. The dogs continue to grow and wind up with abnormal growth patterns and bone structure, which can result in irregular body proportions. (Shown in the photo example)
❗️ HIP DYSPLASIA
In a retrospective cohort study conducted at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and published over 10 years ago in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, results showed that both male and female dogs desexed at an early age were more prone to hip dysplasia.
❗️(CCL) Injuries
A study conducted at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center on canine cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) injuries concluded that spayed and neutered dogs had a significantly higher incidence of CCL rupture than their intact counterparts. And while large breed dogs had more CCL injuries, sterilized dogs of all breeds and sizes had increased rupture rates.
❗️BONE CANCER
In a study of Rottweilers published in 2002, it was established that the risk for bone sarcoma was significantly influenced by the age at which the dogs were desexed. For both male and female.
Among the reports and studies pointing to health concerns associated with early spaying and neutering, you can also find mention of increased incidence of:
🔹Adverse reactions to vaccines
🔹Noise phobias
🔹Fearful behavior
🔹Aggression
Our recommendation is to wait until 2 yrs with responsible pet ownership.
