Here is an x-ray of a recent broken radius/ulna surgery that we performed. What made this a little trickier than most is that the break is close to the end of the bone, and so a specialized bone plate was needed. You can't tell from this picture, but the plate was in the shape of a T. 3 screws were in one side of the break and another 4 screws were in the other side. This pet made a full recovery.

Given our concerns over Covid-19 and the recent shelter-in-place order from the state, we'd like to mention a few key pieces of information regarding our clinic and your pet's health:
1. We are still open. Veterinary clinics are considered an essential service. If you need us, we are here for you.
2. If you pet has an injury or illness, please give us a call. If you pet only needs an annual exam or vaccines, we ask that you postpone those visits. We do still recommend that puppies and kittens receive their booster series of vaccines.
3. All of our appointments will be seen curbside. In other words, we will greet you outside, and conduct the entirety of the appointment either outside or from your car. If your pet needs diagnostic test such as blood work or x-rays, your pet will be taken into the hospital by one of our staff. Also, depending on the size of your animal, our staff may bring your pet into the building for the doctor to perform the physical exam. You will still be seen by a veterinarian - but the interaction will be entirely outside. Running appointments this way helps to increase distance between people and the outdoor ventilation is safer.
4. Stay safe, and consider ordering take-out from one of our local restaurants, many of them are hurting right now.

We often get questions about a knee surgery called the CBLO. This is a nice alternative to the TPLO surgery for repairing a torn ACL ligament. The surgery is especially suited to younger dogs and dogs with mis-shappen knees. Here is a recent picture of one of our CBLOs.

Hello, all WSPH Facebook followers! 2018 was a great year. We added Drs' Sooah Goo and Nina Matsuo. Dr. Tao is coming back from maternity leave next week.
At the end of the year, we also officially purchased our building from Melinda Fortney, widow of Dr. Bruce Boehringer. Many of our clients may remember them fondly when our building was called Fremont Animal Hospital. We hope to continue their reputation for great service as we continue to grow in 2019!

Here are post-operative x-rays of one of our recent surgeries - called the TPLO. This surgery is the most effective method of correcting a torn ACL ligament in larger dogs. People usually think of torn ACLs happening in soccer and football players, but it's surprisingly common in dogs - many times happening with no obvious cause. Please see our website if you want more details on torn ACL's in dogs: http://www.warmspringspet.com/torn-acl-in-dogs
