A Lifelong Love
As a child I loved animals. Our family pet was a Dachshund named Heidi. Sadly, she fell down the back steps and slipped a disk. My dad had a friend make a cart for her with a little hammock to rest her belly on so she could run with her front legs while her back legs hung limply behind the cart. After Heidi died, we got a Beagle and named her Lizzie. Although we had planned to keep her with us when we moved into a bigger house, we ended up with a much smaller yard and had to give her away. Thus began our transition from dogs to cats. A Siamese named Samantha, A white cat named Genny, a black & white named Matthew, and a Tortoiseshell named Taffy.
Soon after establishing my cleaning business, a client asked if I would like to stay at her place while she and her family visited relatives over Christmas. (They had planned to leave their German Shorthair, Dakota, with friends; however, those friends were also going away for Christmas.) Thus began my pet sitting service. Now I’m “Aunt Lisa” to oodles of pets throughout the Greater Fremont Area. One client gave me a Hallmark card to express her appreciation for the tender loving care I give her dog, Snickers. The inside of the card read “You care for other people’s pets as if they were your own.” Well, they ARE mine! I just don’t take them home with me. I move into their home while their owners are away. While I’m with them, their my kids. I love my work!
