We have a beautiful 8 year old Border Collie (9 in June) named Starlyte looking for a summer home while we are on tour, June through mid October. She is now retired from shows and is not enjoying traveling and not being able to perform. She still loves to play frisbee and dock dive she just can’t do it anymore at a performance level. She has hyperthyroidism and Masticatory muscle myositis. Both of these illnesses have been easily managed with medications. She takes Methimazole twice a day and prednisone once a day. She takes her pills easy with a few bites of kibble. Her medication does increase her thirst but she has a good bladder and is potty trained. She loves being outdoors but can get bored and dig. She’s a very sweet dog and is used to being indoors and sleeping inside. We would love for her to spend the summer in a home where she will be loved and someone will throw frisbees to her once in a while. We would cover the cost of her food, supplements and medications. If you fall in love with her we can consider you as a permanent home for her. Video of her dock diving in comments, it won’t let me post together with a photo.

Here are some rules to follow when renting the pool at Stunt Dog Academy.

1. Please ensure your dogs are pottied before they go up on the dock, even if they have just done so at home.
2. Never leave your dog unattended up on the dock.
3. No more than two dogs are allowed on the dock at one time.
4. The potty runs located at the back left side of the dock are strictly to potty dogs; they are not intended for leaving your dog unattended while you are on the dock with another dog.
5. Please pick up after your dogs and dispose of waste in the trash bins.
6. Always wait for your dog to shake on the ramp side of the dock before allowing them to enter through the other gate to jump off the dock and into the pool again. This helps keep the turf drier and reduces the risk of dogs slipping.
7. Please avoid standing on the ramp, it has a weight limit.
8. Please ensure your dogs do not continuously bark while on the premises.
9. Do not drive on the grass.
10. Have a DOG-GONE good time!

I desperately need someone to do some pool maintenance for me. It doesn’t need to be a professional. Someone that can come brush the pool, clean skimmer baskets, clean and run the robotic cleaner. Throw chlorine in it. Couple other things I can easily walk them through like backwashing and testing the PH levels. once a week. Ideally need someone who can come twice a week and spend an hour, if that, at the pool doing these things. I’ll pay with cash or free use of the pool for their dogs. I’m sorry guys but the pool is closed this week until we can get repairs done to the ramp. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s open again. Sorry for having to do this on a hot week but safety comes first!

Well I was hoping to open the pool yesterday but even though we followed Leslie’s instructions to get the water balanced before adding chlorine, it still turned very dark brown the moment chlorine was added. Been working since Tuesday to get it blue and clear again. I see the changes in color, we’re getting there!

The pool will likely open in a few days. I’m just getting the water balanced and making sure it doesn’t turn green/brown on me when we add chlorine today. As of right now our scheduling page has appointments available starting Monday but I will update you guys if the pool opens sooner. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

A little update for you guys! The pool was worked on this past weekend. It was drained and pressure washed. All of the legs and one of the pumps were replaced. Come to find out the second pump also needed to be replaced so I will be ordering it today and will try to get rush shipping on it so I can have the pool filled and opened up by next week. I’ll keep you guys updated!

Yesterday was THE DAY for Loba!!! I adore when the dog makes their first catches in the air. It is so rewarding for them. They get so excited and so happy and come running back on the dock to try and do it again!

This Griffon, Karma, came to me this morning with a history of jumping happily with lots of energy off the ramp but refuses to go off the dock. Her mom was thrilled when our trainer, Didi, was able to show Karma that jumping off the dock is even more fun!! 🐾💦

ASCA is having a dock jumping competition at Stunt Dog Academy the weekend of June 11-12. Day-of sign ups are $30 per "launch" which is like a wave. $25 dollars per wave for signing up in advance. Just print the form from the link and snail mail it in. All dogs that can jump freely on their own, swim confidently and exit the ramp are welcome to participate no matter their breed, how knew they are at the sport, or how far they can jump. This is a great opportunity fto get your feet wet at commpetition in a small friendly environment versus heavy duty competition. I am judging, btw. LOL Hope to see you out there!
