🥰Oh, we've got an update for you. Sweet Della went out on a foster 2 adopt about 2 months ago And I spent some time working with the family and showing their son how to be able to play and train Della and how obedient she is even though she does have a high drive. It couldn't have been a better match. Della just felt like she was home. She got a little boy and he is her best friend. They play and train daily and keep each other busy. We couldn't be more thrilled and satisfied for this girl to be and feel so safe and loved by everyone in this family. Thank you so much for adopting and giving Della a second chance.

We would like to introduce you to this 6 month old Cane Corso baby that is now available for adoption and looking for a furever home. This little man has been a part of our daily dog daycare since 10 weeks of age. King's previous owner took him in after a family member purchased him and wasn't allowed to have pets. She did not exactly want another dog as she has a few but wanted to do what was right by him and with several dogs things sometimes get overwhelming so we took King in. King has been a prescious boy at daycare since day 1. He is a little social butterfly loves making new friends and loves to go belly up for his fur friends as well as his human friends to get lots of belly rubs. He's a very smart, submissive boy, and super Friendly. He is picking up basic obedience very fast but obviously we'll need continuous training and the right owners. King is not fully potty trained yet as we are a little behind on the ball with him. He is crate trained and does settle well in his crate and can self-soothe. He is about 40 lb now and growing quickly. King is looking for a foster as it would be best that if he got more individualized attention as he grows outside of the kennel. He is up to date on all of his puppy vaccines.1st Rabies, preventatives, and microchipped. If you are interested in fostering or adopting King, please go to www.njmisfitsk9rescue.com

We all know how much I love my Siberian Huskies well this one I so wish I could keep. But I'm just not in the position at this time so I'm going to make sure he finds an amazing home. This boy came in as a runaway and after locating his family which was I'm talking in our backyard here at work. They decided to surrender him because they are just not in the position to keep him anymore as their family has grown much bigger and not all the youngsters would pay attention to doors being opened and we all know Huskies they love to run. They wanted him safe.

Okay, I'll get to the good parts: He is now our blue eyed Yeti😍.

Yeti was surrendered on 7-23-24
After an evaluation, a health check and getting all up to date on vaccines Yeti is now available for adoption.

Yeti is a 3-year-old neutered male weighing 88 lb and I'm telling you the funniest sweetest, gentle big boy. He's just a mush.

Yeti's first night he was a little off but quickly learned that the boarding facility at K Street Group K9 Training & Boarding Academy was going to be his best friend. Not even 24 hours. This boy realized he was going to get a lot of attention. Get worked. Have lots of play time and exercise.

He settled in great!

He is dog friendly! We would prefer that he find a home with another female dog around the same size if possible.

He is amazing with kids.

He is well-mannered not one accident since he has arrived. He will counter serve if given the chance.

He settles in crate great but prefers not to be there lol.

He really doesn't have leash manners but he has been getting lots of training with that.

He has a prey-drive. Your typical Siberian Husky. No cats or small pets to be on the safe side.
He is learning patience and not to doordash.

This boy does need a fenced-in property but he does not jump fences.

All in all, he's a very good boy. He loves to play and romp around. He likes being chased by the staff. It's a game to him and then he'll come and Paw you and play tag to start it all over again. He'll talk to you when he wants to and loves to have his own personal fan blowing on him when he is resting.

This boy is being boarded at this time but he is available for adoption and we are also looking for a foster to get him out of boarding so we can learn more about home life with him.

If you are interested in giving Yeti a chance. Please go to www.njmisfitsk9rescue.com

Update- 7-23-24 - surrendered to rescue- owner decided he can not take care of (Rocky) anymore as his life has changed with 6 children now and they can't keep him in their yard due to children letting him out and its overwhelming for the mother as dad is working too much. Owner wants him to be safe and loved. What we know about Rocky- very friendly, loving, raised as a puppy with several children, loves kids, good with other dogs, knows sit, does not climb or jump 4 foot fence, only runs away when not contained or sees he can slip past child when door is open. Needs to be updated on a few vaccines but in good body condition. Prey drive for wildlife, no cats.

Update 7-22-24- owner has been located!

Meet the most dashing Flynn Rider: Flynn is a local owner surrender to NJMCR at 10 months old. He is now 19 lbs and a small breed Chihuahua Fox terrier mix. His previous owner adopted him from a local shelter under the impression he was all Chihuahua, once he outgrew that size she was in no position to take care of him as the owner had senior Chihuahuas in the home that could not handle Flynn’s puppy energy.

Flynn does great with other dogs closer to his age group or his play level. He is involved in a daily puppy play group where he is learning how to socialize and build confidence. Flynn is our wonderful, sweet misfit full of excitement, zoomies, and wiggles. Flynn will always greet you with a huge smolder on his face. That makes him so handsome. Flynn would do great in a family house as an only dog or with another dog.

Flynn is neutered, crate trained, fully potty trained, walks well on a leash, loves meeting new people and up to date on all required vaccinations.

Flynn is also currently looking for a foster if not a new forever home. If interested in Flynn go to www.njmisfitsk9rescue.com

Just a quick happy update on our boy Dawson now Huck he has settled in an adapted to his new home beautifully. He was adopted by one of our veteran fosters that has moved out into her own new home we couldn't be more happier that Huck has landed with this family. He has another brother that was adopted through us as well as a couple of other Misfits that we adopted out through the family. He's going to love his big fenced in yard lots of play time hiking, going on Pocono camping trips. And obviously taking over every bed in the house. 🐶Riley has been in rescue and boarding at K Street Group K9 Training & Boarding Academy for 556 days now😩 When Riley came to us, she came with some puppy quirks that we have finally overcome. Riley loves meeting new people and making friends with just about anyone. The easiest way to win her heart is with belly rubs and cuddles. She enjoys romping around and would benefit with a very active family to keep up with her energetic personality. When Riley is not on the go, she is the best cuddle bug. Riley is the perfect pup if you want a friend to go on an adventure with or just stay inside and relax.

Riley was born 10/1/2022 and at adult now weighs 56 lbs Riley needs a well experienced owner, and would benefit in a household with no other animals or children under 16 years old. She is up to date on all appropriate vaccinations and fully potty trained. Please help Riley find her forever home, so she can experience the true love of what a family can give her!

This can be Riley’s last chance on finding her forever home, whether you're looking for a new best friend or you know someone else, that is, please share Riley!

Every share gets Riley closer to her forever home!

💔Casey has been with us for about 605 days now.😭 Within those 2 years Casey has grown a huge bond with all of our members, kennel staff and volunteers that came through our doors. If you were to ask Casey, this is her home at K Street Group K9 Training & Boarding Academy and her canine care associates are her family. Out of every misfit we’ve seen over the years, we can strongly state, Casey is the most loyal. Casey is very shy and timid at first, as she has never known what a real family has to hold. Casey works off of trust, which can take some time to build with her. But, once you break through that tough wall, she never loses her spark. She is our fun, playful girl, with lots of personality once she accepts you as one of her own. Her favorite things to do are play tag and run around the yard to show everyone how speedy she is, play fetch, and on really nice days she loves to lay out and soak up all the sun.

Casey was born 8/22/22. Casey would be great with a confident, yet patient owner. Someone with a relatively calm household, as she does get frightened easily to newcomers. Casey is good with children, but she prefers kids over 16 years old. Casey is fully potty trained and up to date on all required vaccinations. Casey deserves to experience the luxury of what a home can give her. We hope that there is someone out there that can give the time and dedication to our most loyal Misfit- Casey.

This can be Casey’s last chance on finding her forever home, whether you're looking for a new best friend or you know someone else, that is, please share Casey!

Every share gets Casey closer to her forever home!

Go to www.njmisfitsk9rescue.com if you are interested in loving this precious girl!.

Please meet this new surrender, Dawson — he is a 3.5 years old (DOB 10/30/2020) neutered male. Dawson is house trained and crate trained (though he doesn’t use it much besides laying down in it with the door open)! He is a very friendly and very active family dog. He lived with the same family and children since he was 8 weeks old. He is dog friendly and people friendly, but he pulls a lot due to no leash training. He will be learning loose leash walking and not jumping on people, while he is in our care. Dawson loves having an open yard to run and play in. He loves water (swimming) and tug-of-war. He also plays fetch, though he doesn’t always bring it back! He’s a fan of chewing on the Kong toy as well. No food aggression, and knows the command “drop it”. He also can't get enough of his butt scratches and snuggling up. He is up to date on all his vaccines from Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, and on prevention. Dawson would benefit from a foster or a new home so that he can settle into and not regress losing his family so suddenly. At no fault of his own other than the landlord changing lease restrictions and the family had no other options than to give up Dawson to rescue to help find him find a new forever home. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Dawson, please reach out to New Jersey Misfits Canine Rescue at www.njmisfitsk9rescue.com

The New Jersey Misfits Canine Rescue

NJMCR was founded in 2018. We are a non breed specific rescue that strives to place former homeless dogs in their furever homes. We do not discriminate against breed, age, or size, and will often take the dogs that are the most overlooked. We are based in NJ with fosters throughout the state and will travel to neighboring states as well. All of our dogs are held for 2 weeks before being available for adoption to insure they are in good health and have been throroughly vet checked, fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped all within the limits of their age. Potential adopters will be expected to complete an application, reference checks and a required home visit before adoption is finalized. Any questions, please feel free to message the page or email us at [email protected]. It’s All About The Dogs!
