The end of 2023 was very bittersweet for Sierra View Animal Hospital. Dr. Scheidt decided to retire and sell her practice of 18 years to Dr. Battles and Dr. Conlan.  Although we are delighted that Dr. Scheidt is now enjoying her retirement with her family, we also miss working alongside her on a daily basis. 

Dr. Battles and Dr. Conlan have worked alongside Dr. Scheidt for many years and are excited to continue Sierra View Animal Hospital's core values and standard of care. They strive to ensure your pet continues to receive the same quality of care you have come to know and expect from Sierra View. 

One of the first changes the doctors are trying to facilitate is looking at ways to resume in-person visits. In 2020 we had to make some changes to the hospital to allow for more kennel space which essentially eliminated our reception waiting area.  However, they are currently making adjustments in preparation of resuming in-person visits later this year.  We will keep you updated on the changes to come and look forward to seeing you soon.

Nestlé Purina Petcare Company Voluntarily Recalls Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets El Elemental Dry Dog Food in the U.S. Due to Potentially Elevated Vitamin D | FDA

On February 8th, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company voluntarily recalled select lots of Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets EL Elemental (PPVD EL) prescription dry dog food due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D. Pet owners who purchased the diet are asked to immediately stop feeding and throw it away in a container where no other animals, including wildlife, can get to it. Vitamin D toxicity may include vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling and even renal (kidney) dysfunction. Please call our office at (559)432-1200 if you think your pet has been affected.

Hi, I’m Samantha and I’m looking for a home. I was rescued and have been staying with a lovely lady, but I was hoping to find a forever home just in time for Christmas. You see, I’m almost a big cat now, I’ll be a year old at Christmas, and I think I’m ready for a place I can call home. I would love a place where I can play with all my toys. I love to look out the window into the neighborhood, so a home with windows would be nice, but I’m not picky. But most importantly, I would love a home with a human who likes to snuggle, I’m a cuddler! If you’re looking for a lap warmer, I’m your cat. I will be honest, I haven’t spent much time around dogs or little humans, but I’m open to meeting them. I do like other cats so don’t worry about that. The lovely lady I’ve been staying with took me to get spayed and I have all my vaccines updated so I’m ready to go. Ohhh and I’m litter box trained too! (See big cat now!) Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, will be Dr. Conlan’s last day in the office before he departs on a deployment to the Middle East. Dr. Conlan will spend the next 9 months serving his country & caring for the US Military Working Dogs. We thank Dr. Conlan and his family for their service and eagerly wait for his safe return home in September 2023.
