Our Story
Fresno County Horse Park (formerly known as Ram Tap) is the second oldest continuously operating 3 Day Eventing facility in the U.S. We fortunately have the best winter cross country footing in California. It is quite sandy and drains very well.
The jumps above were originally built for the Richland Park Horse Trials in Michigan. When they closed we bought these jumps along with a number of others and shipped them to Fresno. Most of the property that we occupy belongs to Pacific Gas & Electric. Their electric substation is behind the jumps.
We offer four 3 Day Events and one Combined Test each year as well as 2 schooling Dressage shows and 2 triple rated Dressage shows. The Central California Hunter/Jumper Mini Series offers 4 schooling shows at the Horse Park throughout the year. The Central Valley Harness Association hold one driving show in February each year.
We have International clinicians who teach clinics at the Horse Park on a regular basis. Sir Mark Todd CBE, Mary King MBE, Lucinda Green MBE and Jock Paget are some of them. A number of excellent American trainers bring students to teach them such as Buck Davidson, Phillip Dutton, James Alliston, Bunnie Sexton and many more. We also offer schooling sunrise to sundown 7 days a week except when we are closed prepping for a Horse Trial. If you want to come school, please call us 1 day ahead so we can fill some of our water features for you.
