🧡 Every Thanksgiving, our committed team wakes up early to make sure our shelter pets feel loved and appreciated. With the generous support of our community, we provide each pet with a special "Pawsgiving" meal as a wonderful treat. You can join in this effort by donating any of the items listed below!

- Pumpkin Purée
- Blueberries
- Cooked canned chicken

Dutch, a 1-year-old male Plott Hound mix, is one of my work babies who is ready to leave the shelter! Don't be fooled by his size; this 70 pound boy is quite the softie. He is a loving goofball who is always ready to have fun.

Along with being playful, Dutch also LOVES people. He can be a bit shy at first, but is quick to make friends. He loves deeply and knows how to keep your heart warm.
Dutch is a medium energy level dog. Though this boy enjoys physical exercise - he does value one on one time with his people.

He is large dog social, walks awesome on leash, and is potty trained in his kennel (Which should make house training easy!)

This boy is fixed and ready to go home! So, come on down to meet him at Fresno Humane Animal Services!

Join us on Saturday, November 16th for an informative workshop focused on all aspects of fostering! We’ll discuss what to anticipate during the fostering process and provide a chance to meet some of our available dogs.

Whether you’re an experienced foster parent or simply curious about the journey, this workshop aims to offer valuable insights and support. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, connect with others who share your interests, and listen to heartwarming stories from current foster families. Additionally, it’s a great chance to engage with some of the lovely dogs in need of caring foster homes. We can’t wait to see you there and share this fulfilling experience with you!

As we prepare for the annual transition into winter, it's that time of year again—Straylight Savings! This unique event not only marks the turning back of our clocks but also serves as a reminder to check on our furry friends and ensure their safety.

🕰️ Turn Back Your Clocks

This Sunday, remember to set your clocks back one hour! Enjoy that extra hour of sleep, but don’t let it go to waste. Use the opportunity to refresh your routines and perhaps even tackle that to-do list you’ve been putting off.

✅ Check Microchips for Pets

While you’re adjusting your clocks, take a moment to check the microchips of your pets. As the colder months approach, many animals find themselves lost or separated from their owners. Ensuring that your pet’s microchip information is up to date can make all the difference in reuniting with your beloved companion.

Here are a few quick tips for checking microchips:

1. **Visit the Vet or shelter**: Schedule a quick trip to your veterinarian. They can scan your pet's microchip to confirm that it’s working and that the information is accurate. A shelter can also check the microchip information.

2. **Update Your Info**: If you've moved, changed your phone number, or your pet has a new owner, be sure to update your details in the microchip registry.

3. **Consider Tags**: While microchips are a great tool for identification, they work best in conjunction with a collar and ID tag that includes your current contact information.
