Hey everyone, I’ve had a ton of people reach out to me about my Old River Hunting Retrievers hoodies! So I decided give it a whirl. I’m putting the order in a week from today on December 6th. Reef went home for the winter today and got to experience her first duck hunt! I can’t wait to get this special dog back in the spring to run the hunt test game.

This was a full circle moment for me. Mr. Rodney here is the man who introduced me to the world of duck hunting, and labrador retrievers. He took time he didn’t have to, to share this wonderful pastime with me. He taught me how to blow a duck call, how to hunt ducks, and the joy that only comes from hunting with a lab. Without this man there wouldn’t have been an Old River Hunting Retrievers. I never would’ve fell in love with this sport. I had the privilege of helping Mr. Rodney choose his next hunting partner “Champ” this weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed getting together again. Who knows! Champ might be headed to O.R.H.R in the future. Thank you Mr. Rodney for everything and happy hunting! Donna Dixon Cook

Maverick update: In august I found this guy in a parking lot, scared of his own shadow. Since then we’ve gotten him over his gun shyness, pumped about retrieving, and increased his marking ability. I’m so proud of this special pup and excited to see him work in Arkansas this year!

I’m chasing a dream, plain and simple. I’ve seen so many people give up on their dreams because it was “unrealistic.” I refuse to believe that. My mindset is, “if they can do it, why can’t I?” Failure is going to happen, and there will be naysayers but I know that one day I’m going to make it.
