🌟Dutton: An Old Soul with a New Beginning 🌟

Dutton is no stranger to life’s ups and downs. When he first arrived, it was clear this wasn’t his first rodeo. With ground-down teeth, a knack for climbing cyclone fences, and a quiet way of avoiding conflict, we knew he carried a long history behind those gentle eyes.

With love and care, Dutton received dental work, gained weight, had bumps removed, and blossomed back into health. His biggest accomplishment? Becoming certified through the HABIT program, where he shines as a therapy dog in senior homes and hospitals. 💛

Life threw another curveball when both Dutton and his volunteer partner were diagnosed with cancer around the same time. But just like true companions, they healed side by side—and today, both are healthy and back to bringing light and laughter to the seniors they visit - as FAMILY after he was officially adopted!

Dutton is proof that resilience, second chances, and love can rewrite any story. 🐾✨

Dexter started at Friendsville in 2021 in our PuppyPreK program. Since then, he has been coming every week to play and has endeared himself to us and to his puppy friends. His big goofy play style and loving demeanor is going to be so missed as he begins his new adventures in Alaska. We'll miss you Dexter! xoxo your Friendsville friends

🎆 4th of July Pet Safety Reminder 🇺🇸

Fireworks may be fun for us, but they’re often terrifying for our furry friends. Here are a few simple ways to keep your pets safe and comfortable tonight:

✅ Double-check collars & ID tags:
Make sure your pet’s collar is secure and that their tag has up-to-date contact info. In case they bolt from fear, this greatly increases the chance of a safe return home.

🎶 Play soothing music or white noise:
Drown out the loud booms with a radio, TV, or calming playlist. The extra noise helps mask fireworks sounds.

🖤 Create a dark, cozy space:
Keep pets indoors in a quiet, dark room with their favorite bed or blanket. Close curtains to block out flashing lights.

💊 Use prescribed medication if needed:
If your vet has prescribed medication for anxiety, give it as directed before fireworks start.

🐾 Most importantly, stay calm yourself—your pet will take their cues from you. Wishing you and your pets a safe and stress-free 4th of July! 🇺🇸🐶🐱
