The owners surrendered him to us because they wanted better for him. Shelter pets are some of the sweetest souls you’ll ever meet. Sadly, many shut down quickly in the stressful shelter environment. These animals are often discarded like trash, but as the saying goes, ✨one man’s trash is another man’s treasure!✨ Meet Sweet Potato. This gentle boy came from Pasadena Animal Shelter, where he was completely shut down. One of our teammates couldn’t leave him behind and decided to tag him from the shelter. Almost immediately, Sweet Potato began to perk up, realizing he was finally safe. She said he melts into your arms for affection, walks beautifully on a leash, doesn’t jump, and is pretty good in a home setting!❤️🐶 Take a chance—foster a shelter pet. You’ll change their life, and they might just change yours too! Sweet Potato will be looking for a foster, so if you have the room to spare, he would love to crash on your couch for a few weeks!❤️

On today’s episode of dogs dumped in Houston, we bring you on an adventure to a landfill off the Sam Houston toll road—a known dumping ground for dogs because Houston Humane Society is just down the road. We were able to rescue three puppies and their mama, who had been seeking shelter under heavy machinery. Tragically, one of the puppies was found deceased—a harsh and heartbreaking reminder of the unlivable conditions these animals face. A landfill is no place for puppies to grow up or for dogs to survive. While rescuing this little family, we saw countless other dogs living among the trash and rubble. It was a devastating sight. These dogs are not trash, but sadly, some people treat them as if they are. It’s incomprehensible and heartbreaking to think this is how some view these voiceless, helpless beings. Now, this family needs your help. They urgently need fosters. They can be separated if necessary, but right now, they have nowhere to go. We couldn’t bear to leave them out there for another second. The puppies are about 10 weeks old and 10 pounds each, and mama is a petite, gorgeous girl weighing around 40 pounds. If you can be part of their life-changing story, please message us to foster.
