Charlotte is doing incredibly wellâsheâs no longer leaking urine! Sheâs still a bit shy, but weâre hopeful sheâll start coming out of her shell soon. Now, she just needs a foster home. Her surgery was a success, and sheâs healing beautifully.
A huge thank you to Dr. Bae and the team at @friendswood.vet ! Theyâre a new clinic in Friendswood doing amazing work for rescue animals. If youâre looking for a vet, we canât recommend Dr. Bae enough!
For those who may not remember, Charlotte was found in Cleveland last weekend with a severe vaginal prolapse. We rushed her to Dr. Bae, who immediately took action to help her. We donât know how long she had been suffering, but she was in terrible shape. Thankfully, she found her way to us, and today, sheâs one step closer to finding her forever home!â¤ď¸
Transport night! 182 dogs and cats made their way out of Texas! Our biggest transport yet!
Pixie Update!
We canât believe this little fighter now weighs 3 pounds! Her incredible recovery has left us in awe, and we are beyond grateful for the overwhelming support she received. So many people rallied behind her, and today, weâre thrilled to share that Pixie has been adopted!
For those who donât know her story, Pixie was found in critical condition by one of our volunteers. She was rushed to the vet, barely clinging to life, but this tiny warrior refused to give up. She endured blood transfusions, multiple hospital stays, severe eye issues, and a critical flea and parasite infectionâall while battling extreme malnourishment.
Itâs your time to shine, Pixie! We are so proud of you! Thank you to everyone who shared and donated, we couldnât have saved her without yâall.
Have you taken your foster to playgroup yet? Thinking about it? Itâs definitely worth it! Playgroup is a fantastic way to help your foster socialize with other dogs, teaching them important signals, cues, boundaries, and respect. Plus, a tired dog is a good dog! Itâs not just great for physical exerciseâit also provides essential mental stimulation. Give it a try and see the difference! Check the comments for Armandoâs email to sign your foster up for playgroupđś
Fiona and her brother came from an SPCA cruelty case, a heartbreaking situation of neglect and starvation. But thanks to the dedication of our team, her story is taking a turn for the better.
In this video, our Director of Intake & Behavior, Olga, is working with 1 year old Fiona to help her build confidence and learn important skills. After surviving starvation, itâs natural for food to feel like the most important thing in the worldâbut through enrichment activities like puzzle feeders, Fiona is learning that food will always be there. Sheâs also working on setting boundaries, building independence, and finding security in a structured, loving environment.
Fiona is showing us every day that sheâs more than her past. Sheâs affectionate, goofy, and slowly figuring out what it means to just be a dog.
We are actively looking for the perfect fosterâand eventually, the perfect forever homeâto continue Fionaâs journey. If youâre interested in being part of her transformation, reach out to us!
Serenity is absolutely thriving in her foster home, and that big smile says it all! Sheâs the sweetest, most loving girl, and everyone who meets her instantly falls for her.
Weâre soooo grateful for fosters like Lisa who open their hearts to dogs like Serenityâgiving them the second chance they deserve.
For those who donât know, Serenity has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects connective tissue, making her skin extra fragile and prone to tears, while also weakening her joints and making them more delicate. This disorder is extremely rare in dogs, with only a small number of documented cases. Itâs also what gives her that distinctive spinal curve and a few battle scarsâbut if you ask us, they just make her all the more special. None of it slows her down one bit, and sheâs as sweet and happy as can be.
At around 8 years old, Serenity deserves to spend the rest of her life surrounded by love, comfort, and happiness. If youâre interested in giving her a forever home or helping another special pup like her, reach outâweâd love to hear from you! â¤ď¸ Despite it all, sheâs full of life, love, and resilience, proving every day that nothing can hold her back.

Late last night we got a call from one of our dedicated volunteers saying she found a mom and pups, desperate for help.
Itâs near freezing temps, raining, and late at night. We posted her to see if anyone was willing to step up a foster her. Thankfully, someone said yes.
Today we went out to get mama and her pups. We had to use a catch pole for our safety as mama was guarding her two babies with her life. She is a very sweet girl but has had a tough life guarding herself and now her two newborns.
We were able to get mama and babies into the warm car and to our medical facility today. The foster who stepped up for this small family literally saved their lives. They were part of the solution and opened their home up. We are so thankful and we know this small family is too. Stay tuned for an update on this sweet little trioâ¤ď¸
