Welp. When you have 3 to 4 vehicles rolling out every other week, minor details are bound to go haywire every once in a while no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Even the world’s largest logistics companies have screw ups every once in a while.

Luckily, it’s not often💁‍♀️

This past transport there were two similar looking puppies that were loaded on the wrong bus–swapped!!

So that princess Dodie would not have to ride the bus for a second time, she actually took a little private plane all the way to Buffalo New York from Houston yesterday.

Thanks to a friend of a friend who was working on his flight hours! 👏 thank you so much to our very kind pilot for his donation of transport!!!!

✨ Finny (2 years) is a confident and affectionate girl who’s all about head rubs and full-body scratches. She’s ready to bring love and joy to your home!

Ariel was dumped, abandoned, and hit by a car on a rural county road in Brazoria County💔

We do as much as we can to intercept dogs from having to go to the Brazoria County animal control facility because they do not allow adoptions and they need as much help as possible. It’s a huge county and a tiny facility that relies completely on rescues to pull the animals. And there really are not many rescue groups here 😥

Ariel was in pain and out of time. If we did not go get her then she would end up dead or at the overcrowded small shelter. We went and got her thanks to a kind foster offer. Actually her Foster’s name is Patty and I met her while looking at dog food at Costco. Patty has now fostered about 10 dogs through us and she absolutely loves it. We partner with her by providing the medical care and getting the dogs adopted, and she gives them a safe and loving environment through the process! Wanna be like Patty? Join us!!!! Ariel is pictured with her new dad in Montana who just adopted her. This is her daddy’s second time adopting from us! He waited for her through final leg repair surgery recovery as well as heartworm treatment. They were always meant to be together. Smitten!❤️

Apple stinks. And we ain’t playin.

She was being given away for free because her owner did not have a proper fence so she was running the streets, sure to be hit and killed. We wanted to get her spayed instead of having someone take her as a free dog then likely breed her.

The smell is unexplainable. I mean, 🤢🤢🤢

So, why does Apple stink?

Well, her tail has grown into her rear end and it’s oozing with infection. Never have I ever smelled anything like it. She also has a raging ear infection. So, this week it’s surgery for Apple!

Sometimes people buy bulldog puppies because they’re undeniably cute but what we’ve seen happen a lot over the years is that not everyone can afford their care. Bulldogs do often need a lot of medical care.

This infection has been very painful for Apple. We gave her a hydro bath and the infection puss was just sifting off. Poor baby.

Swipe to see Brody’s after❤️

We pulled Brody into our program last month from the and the only way we were able to say yes was because of our ability to board him at our facility. We are constantly full at the rescue. Once Brody left, we were able to save another one in his place!

Remember the fundraiser we recently posted about the parvo puppies we were treating? Unfortunately, one of them passed away, leaving just two. They’re now receiving care at a parvo treatment facility until they’ve finished shedding the virus.

This heartbreaking outcome highlights the critical importance of vaccinating your dogs—parvo is a fatal disease that often affects puppies, and vaccination is one of the best ways to prevent such tragedies. Who wants to lose a puppy to something so easily preventable?😢

Little Bobbi and her mom Cobie were abandoned and starving 😪

One of our longtime fosters saw them and couldn’t bear to not take action. She brought them into her home even though she has three large personal dogs and was fostering an 85 pound sweet pitbull for us at the time.

Despite how inconvenient it was, she set up more crates and kept them safe and fed👏 We were able to find another foster family to take over the care for Bobbi, and then she was adopted and traveled to Seattle on the big red bus!

Fast forward to today… Bobbi is getting bigger, is now “Claire Bear” and she is doing so well! She is such a happy, but naughty, girl. Her new family has an 8-year old GSD named Henry and they are in love. They are two peas in a pod. It’s everything her family wanted for them both. 🥰

Meet Hazel Fluffaluffagus, currently fostered in Portland, Oregon and ready for meet and greets! Hazel is the kind of dog that fits seamlessly into just about any home. She’s incredibly soft, and is the perfect balance of playful, calm, and affectionate. One moment she’s tossing a toy around or playing with her foster sister, and the next she’s curled up next to you soaking up all the love.

Hazel is also very food motivated, which makes her a quick learner. She’s doing a great job picking up her manners, including sit, touch and walking on leash in a busy city environment, and has been respectful and gentle with the senior cat in her foster home. She can entertain herself with her toys when needed and has been doing well in a playpen during the day while her foster mom works. She is beginning her crate training as well!

At about 3.5 months old and around 20 lbs, Hazel is still a puppy and will need a family committed to continuing her training and socialization. In return, you’ll get a loyal companion with the sweetest personality and the best set of ears you’ve ever seen. Hazel is ready to find her person and share all the snuggles, kisses, and adventures that come with it.

Harry’s Hounds is a foundation set up by one of our passionate adopters who lives in Washington and has adopted from us twice! Deborah is very generous and believes deeply in our lifesaving mission🐾 We are very grateful for Deborah!

Thanks to Harry’s Hounds, we have the opportunity to save dogs like Kona! Kona has thrived in his forever home for four years now, and his adopters are deeply grateful for us for rescuing him❤️

Remember the Three Amigos—the pups abandoned at a construction site? We have some amazing news! Dos has been adopted! She was part of our most recent transport, and we couldn’t be happier.

These three stole our hearts, and we know they touched yours too. Thank you to everyone who donated toward their medical care and helped us get them to where they are now—safe, loved, and in forever homes. This is the purpose of our mission and we are so happy to share it with those that want to help!❤️

Rachel stepped into her new role as School Events Lead at Caffey Middle School, meeting with two amazing groups of students who had organized a food drive just a few months ago. As they cuddled some of our adorable Lone Star puppies, the students asked thoughtful questions and we shared great insights about rescue and animal care.

We put their knowledge to the test by asking how old they thought the puppies were—their guess? Six months! They were shocked to learn these little ones were only seven weeks old!

A huge thank you to Sarah Lucas Muske and Rachel Crocker for sharing your rescue expertise and inspiring the next generation of animal advocates. We love opportunities to educate young minds about the importance of animal rescue!
