Have you seen a more handsome face?! 😍 Henry is a rare who came in for some ear irritation. After a thorough examination, a sample of the debris in his ears was collected and an ear cytology was run to determine what exactly was causing the irritation. 🔎
Dr. S put together a treatment plan to appropriately treat his ears and he was given a pain injection in clinic to quickly relieve his pain. 💪

🐾Deena was the purrfect patient during her recent visit with Dr. S and Nicole 🥰
Her pawrents noticed that she was limping and wanted to make sure she did not have any broken bones.
Radiographs were performed and Dr. S was happy to report that Deena just had a soft-tissue injury! Deena was given a pain injection as well as an anti-inflammatory injection in clinic to get her pain managed as soon as possible and she was sent home with pain/anti-inflammatory medications and instructions for strict rest while healing 😁

✨ Happy Cytology Sunday ✨
Max, the 3.5-year-old German Shepherd Dog, came in for a swollen ear that his pawrents noticed a couple of days ago. Dr. S and Nicole obtained a couple of samples from Max's ears and performed an ear cytology - He was then diagnosed with an ear infection caused by yeast and an aural (ear) hematoma 🥺 Nicole and Lidia thoroughly cleaned Max's ears and as you can see, he snuck in some kisses which earned him ! 😘 He was sent home with ear medications to fight the yeast harboring deep in his ears as well as some oral steroids to help with the inflammation.

**You can see the yeast in the ear cytology - some say they look like shoe prints 👟others say they look like mini snowmen ⛄What do you think??

🐾Meet Pisco, the gentle giant 🖤
His owner was unaware that grapes are toxic to dogs and gave him an evening snack! Of course, Pisco wasn't complaining 😋
We induced vomiting and we found that Pisco wasn't only snacking on grapes, he gave up a whole sock🧦We got an update from his owner the next day that he was still acting his normal self, with no regrets! 😆 Thank you for trusting us with Pisco's care!

Just look at that face 😍 This is Mazy! She came in last weekend after she went to get her vaccinations updated and she started urinating blood 😢

Dr. B recommended that we run a urinalysis on Mazy with a sterile urine sample to check for any bacteria, crystals, and/or any other abnormalities. The results came back, and she had a pretty bad UTI brewing. Dr. B prescribed some antibiotics to help get rid of the infection and recommended a recheck with her primary Veterinarian after the round of medications were done to make sure she is in the clear!

This super sweet guy's name is Blue 🐾

Blue suffers from skin allergies and ear infections and his pawrents brough him to see us to get him some relief!

After a thorough examination was performed by Dr. B, he was sent home with some antibiotics and steroids.

The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!

🍬 Hide the candy - Chocolate and sugar-free treats can be toxic, so keep them far from curious noses.
🕯️ Skip the candles - Battery-operated lights are a safer bet around wagging tails.
🚪 Calm the chaos - If your pet gets nervous with all the doorbell ringing, set them up in a quiet room with their favorite toy.

When his owner noticed he was having trouble walking, they brought him straight to UrgentVet. After some quick care, Teddy was ready to head home and rest up comfortably.
