My goal as a trainer, is to help you build a working relationship with your dog. So that no matter what environment, what distraction, they lean on you for instruction and guidance over their own decisions. That they learn to trust you and respect you. In this case, Duncan saw the moose before me. We’ve done extensive work together. He knows I provide him with everything he needs. I know and trust him to listen from so much time and work to build that trust. So he froze and waited for my instructions. I told him to stay. He did. We waited for the moose to move on. Then had a nice heel through the area until the coast was clear.

Not a lot of days I get to just enjoy the fruits of the training labor...but on Mondays, I get the glorious honor of JUST WALKING with three of my clients very well trained dogs!
