Meet Gizmo, a 4 week-old kitten brought to us by the Dallas Cat Lady Rescue with a necrotic and fractured paw. Due to the severity of his injuries, we opted for a front leg amputation to prevent the infection from spreading. This was not an easy decision, as anesthesia in a kitten weighing less than a pound is risky, but it was necessary. While Gizmo was being prepped for surgery, he received plenty of love. Fortunately, with thorough preparation and a carefully tailored anesthetic and surgical plan, Gizmo made it through the procedure and is recovering well. He even started eating right after surgery!
