FeLV adversely affects a cat's body in many ways. It is the most common cause of cancer in cats, may cause various blood disorders, and may lead to a state of immune deficiency that hinders a cat's ability to protect itself against other infections.

Today is Feline Leukemia Day
So we're going to take this time to bring awareness to this disease.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus belonging to the coronavirus subfamily, which means it is a cancer-causing virus. FeLV only affects cats and cannot be spread to humans or other animals.

Your veterinarian can diagnose the disease by conducting a simple blood test which identifies FeLV proteins in the blood. This test is highly sensitive and can identify cats with very early infections.
