Hey all, it's been a hot minute and here's why! We are expecting a baby and with that comes the morning(all day) sickness. You know what doesn't go good with morning sickness? Taxidermy. So with that being said I have been and am still working on your skulls, just at a slower pace. Anyone who has a skull with me you are in the degrease stage and it's a slow stage now made even slower. There's light at the end of the tunnel!! Hang with me and I'll be getting more trophies back out to their homes soon. Thank you all for your support this season!

I am looking for Red fox and Gray fox skulls. If anyone has these that I could barrow in May for a youth event that would be great! The skulls will not be handled by anyone but me, I will have my own private collection at the event and will treat the skulls as if they were mine. Thanks!

Sika deer! This species is so cool! They are related to elk, they bugle, their antlers grow back instead of forward like Whitetail and they have fangs! Sika were introduced to Maryland in 1916 on James Island. Sika originate from Japan and east Asia. They are small deer and when trying to elude predators they bounce like mule deer 😂

Getting work done on this cold day. -4 with a real feel of -27. All 4 bucks are at different stages of degrease and whitening. Can't wait to see these studs done! 🦌

There's a bear skull in there! That water was clear when I put the skull in it 2 days ago. This is why you want to degrease, you don't want your skull turning yellow in the future. There's no time frame for this. Every skull is different and takes whatever time it takes to degrease.

I strive for perfection with my work so there is nothing fast about what I do. I use no harsh chemicals that could deteriorate your skull, nor do I boil which causes a lot of damage.

The bear pictured below was harvested by Gary Zembower during the October hunt and is currently being cleaned by the beetles. Besides the bear I also have a nice buck in with the beetles so they are eating well!

The skull in the top right is currently whitening and the skull in the bottom picture is degreasing. Out of all the steps these skulls go through, degreasing is by far the longest. That cloudy yellowish water is grease that has pulled from one skull, that same skull has had 4 water changes! Bones hold grease and you don't want that grease to resurface in a couple years.

Sometimes my workspace is not where I plan.

This buck was done several years ago and is here for some clean up. After years of looking good on the wall sometimes grease resurfaces, that was the case with deer. So, the owner of this lovely deer brought it by to be cleaned up. They still have the nose pieces that broke off during the original processing so I will be reattaching those as well. Can't wait for this before and after!

The degreasing process is probably the most frustrating process for me, which is where this guy is. I don't boil skulls at all because I want the best results for customers and myself. So my process tends to take longer but the results are worth it.

No deer is the same. Sometimes the grease pulls quick, others it's months and for some like this one there will be one spot in particular that takes longer. So back in the tank he goes.

Can't wait to see him when he's done!

Dermisted beetles! I am currently growing 2 colonies. These little guys only eat rotting flesh/meat. A large colony can clean a skull in just a matter of days. They are hungry and ready for your harvests!

Welcome to Savage Skulls! After making the decision to be a stay at home mom I decided to do something I have always wanted to do, TAXIDERMY! I will only be doing European mounts as that is what I have the most interest in. I will be offering different finishes of skulls and will age your deer.
