As some of you may know, my Bear Dog crossed the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago. This was a hard goodbye for me. He is the reason I started my business, I wanted to hang out with him every day. I am so grateful i had the opportunity to do this. My mom had this beautiful sign made for me. I can't wait to hang it in the office. Until we meet again Bear. Forever in my heart.

DID YOU KNOW.
Matting is when hair becomes tangled and knotted together. It can be a serious issue for pets, causing pain, trapping moisture, and hiding skin conditions:
Pain
Mats can pull and bind against the skin, causing pain and itching when your pet moves or lays down. Your pet may also chew and scratch to relieve the discomfort, which can further tighten the mats and irritate the skin.
Trapped moisture
Matting can trap moisture and cut off airflow to your pet's skin, which can lead to irritation and sores. In severe cases, matting can cut off circulation and cause hematomas.
Hidden skin conditions
Matting can hide skin conditions like redness, irritation, swelling, or cracking. It can also make it difficult to detect fleas, scabs, growths, or other pests.
Matting can also prevent your pet from regulating their body temperature, which can lead to overheating in warm weather. The mats can create a breeding ground for bacteria, infections, parasites, hot spots, and skin lesions.

Some goodbyes are harder than others. We lost two of our favorites within the last week. They become part of our family here and their absence will be felt. RIP Walter (Walt) RIP Tux.

DONT GET US WRONG WE LOVE YOUR PUPS, BUT WE SEE THIS OFTEN!!

Dogs are dogs. They're not fur babies. They're not children. They're dogs.

That doesn't mean I don't love my dogs. It doesn't mean you can't call them your "kids" or "fur children." But for their sake, respect that they are dogs. Treat them well, but treat them as they should be.

People humanizing dogs is actually what's getting a lot of them put down, rehomed, dumped, and loaded with behavioral issues.

The best way to honor and love your dog is to respect the fact that they are different from us. That's part of what makes them so amazing!!

Bringing home a new dog and giving it whatever it wants, whenever it wants, is not setting them up for success. It may feel good to "spoil" them. I get it, but what you're actually doing is creating a brat.

I hear this often: "My dog bit our friend on the couch because he thinks the couch is his." OK, who let them think that? The dog didn't just waltz in and claim your couch. The dog wasn't given boundaries to begin with. I let my dogs on the couch, but if I tell them to get off and go to their bed, they will without hesitation. They've earned that privilege based on respect, trust, and understanding.

If you want to "spoil" your dog, do it by setting them up for success. Exercise them, give them boundaries, give them a job, and give them what they actually need instead of the latest squeaky toy. The time you spend playing with your dog means more than the toy itself.

Love your dog. Cherish your dog. Respect your dog, but for the love of the dog, TREAT THEM LIKE A DOG.

(And before anyone wants to say something silly...My dogs are my family. They literally signed my marriage certificate, but they also have boundaries. Just like any healthy family should!)

These 2 male Danes are in need an immediate home.

Their family is having some major medical issues , that is putting a major impact on providing them the time, care and home environment that they want to give them. They are very loved and very well taken care of. Life has just thrown them some major curve balls that has drastically changed their lives.

I would like to keep them together as they are bonded, but understand that is a lot of Dane, so separate homes will work . Creasy (black male) is my girl Ruby’s brother from a litter I produced DOB 1-20-21 Venus x Poseidon. Briggs (Harlequin) I did not produce, but he is my girl Pandoras brother DOB 11-4-21 (Ivy x Zion)

Both are neutered, UTD on shots, very healthy, very loving and affectionate. They are good boys. They have been raised around older children.

They do have a rehome fee, of three hundred each, which will be lower if they go to the same home. An application is required and can be found on my website www.destinydanes.com

They are located in Fruita, CO
