MWDTSA is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) organization that supports US military working dog teams. Our volunteers have been tracking comments and messages over the last couple of days and we want to add some additional clarification to our previous posts.

We support US military working dog teams. We do not have any contacts with and cannot verify any information regarding contracting companies that deal with contract working dogs. CWDs are contracted for missions by various companies, governments and agencies, such as the UN.

MWDTSA was able to verify that no US military working dogs remained at HKIA because we have been in direct communication with the US military working dog leadership, to include Kennel Masters and Program Managers, that were assigned to track movement of US MWD teams in and out of HKIA, as well as US MWD teams that were on the ground. All of those teams successfully evacuated HKIA. We will not share or release the names of these teams, nor will we release information regarding their home bases. We pride ourselves on maintaining a high standard of confidentiality that has allowed us to remain in high regard within the US MWD community over the last 15 years.

Again, we share your sadness and frustration that any dogs have been left at HKIA, but we cannot comment on anything other than what we have confirmed through our US MWD teams that were on the ground.

Public Health Activity Japan was made stronger by the challenges faced in your sacrifice, and we will continue to support each other as veterinarians and defenders of freedom here in the Pacific.

Your medical challenges remain the most difficult I have ever faced, and I truly can say I finally feel like a true clinician after the long nights we shared getting you stabilized, transferred, and continuing your care. I look forward to the answers you offered my team by forfeiting your worldly body to our education through necropsy. You will be missed by everyone here on Yokota AB Japan.”
