I competed at the World Taxidermy Championship in Coralville, Iowa this last week and earned a 1st place ribbon in the professional division. This is the last show of the year and it is the biggest by far with over 700 entries from all over the world. I learned things there that will greatly improve my work in the years to come. I want to thank all of my customers for their continued patience and support.

I got to send this big cat home today. I had alot fun putting this one together and it turned out great. I have to give a big thank you to Randy Ryals for letting me come and visit and learn more about mounting predators. He is a very close friend to me and has helped me tremendously improve this craft that I love so dearly.

I am super proud of my son for sticking it out. He has chased this guy for 2 yrs waiting on an opportunity and it finally paid off. He got a little broken up but he is still going to a beautiful mount.

My daughter was able to get her first deer this year and as soon as we got in the truck she let me know she wanted to mount it. I was very honored to not only get to help her get her first deer but to also be the taxidermist. She chose her form when the time came and it turned out great.

Cade and I attended the Alabama state taxidermy show this weekend. I was able to earn a second on my whitetail and Cade recieved a first place on his mallard. We always have a great time at the shows and learn a ton. Thank you to the Alabama Taxidermy Association for putting on a great show and having some great seminars for us to learn more about our craft.

I had a great week in Georgia making new friends and training with 3x world champion whitetail taxidermist Gene Smith. We even squeezed in some time for fishing in the evenings. Gene and his family took amazing care of us while we were there. The meals were absolutely awesome. Chris done an amazing job cooking everyday. When I got there my allergies were going wild and Mrs.Teresa helped me get them under control. I really can not say enough about this family. As far as what all I learned, I wouldn't even know where to begin. We learned alot about many different things from beginning to end. Definitely a class worth taking. Can't wait to get back out to Georgia and wet a hook with Mr. Gene and learn some more

This is why I love what I do. I got to mount a child's first turkey. I truly enjoyed seeing the excitement on this child's face when he came and picked it up this evening. This is a photo his dad shared with me and allowed me to post. That smile is what it's all about.
