Why Do Hobby Breeders Charge What We Do?
At All Dawgs Go To Heaven, we take great pride in what we do, and we want to take a moment to explain why hobby breeders like us charge the prices we do. Breeding is more than a hobby—it’s a labor of love, care, and commitment that requires significant personal sacrifices.
First and foremost, the care of our dogs is our highest priority. From day one, our puppies receive proper veterinary care, including necessary vaccinations, deworming, and health checks. We also perform genetic screening and DNA testing on our breeding dogs to ensure healthy bloodlines and prevent hereditary conditions. High-quality food, supplements, and vitamins are essential to ensure they grow healthy and strong. Beyond the basics, we invest in a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with whelping room supplies such as beds, lamps, heaters, and other essentials to maintain optimal conditions for the puppies and their mothers.
Breeding also demands a great deal of time and energy. Sleepless nights during whelping and the first few weeks are common as we monitor the health and well-being of the puppies around the clock. It’s a full-time commitment requiring immense dedication, knowledge, and care. Additionally, the paperwork involved—such as health records, registration, and certification of genetic testing—is a crucial part of ensuring transparency and trust in the process.
We understand that pricing can sometimes seem high, but please know that every dollar we receive goes right back into the care of our dogs and to a cause close to our hearts. All Dawgs Go To Heaven donates all profits to the Bradley Vickers Memorial Merit Fund, a scholarship program we established to honor Bradley’s memory. We proudly give 6 scholarships annually, making a difference in the lives of young people and giving back to our community, something that was important to Bradley.
We hope this helps shed light on the costs and personal investments that go into responsible breeding. Thank you for your continued support—it allows us to raise healthy, happy puppies and contribute to a cause that truly matters.
With gratitude,
All Dawgs Go To Heaven
