Big shout out to our hero Drew Davis from Gregory Poole Equipment Company. One of the Emus got out on busy sunset lake road caused traffic jam, many people came help. Mr. Drew Davis got him on his arm, look, emu was enjoying the big hug!

Emu was home safely. Big thanks to everyone helping out!

A baby cow just born on the farm few weeks ago. We will be welcoming visitors to the farm on some sunny weekends in May!

Please welcome new additions to the farm. Mini zebu, all girls team, baby girl only one month old and super sweet, will lick your hand. They are micro mini cows, gentle, sweet and layback!

Pumpkin is getting heavy for me to pick him up to the back of suv. Got a used conversion van yesterday, AC is strong and cold, now pumpkin jump in and out the van by himself like a dog, he likes to kiss the driver too!

Transport the entire crew still quite roomy! Pumpkin is set to go around town again.

Pumpkin got hair cut! I couldn’t landed a professional so this is my first time shear animal. not the best hair style but at least Pumpkin is safe for the coming hot summer :-)

Just hours before shearing on Wednesday.

16 outstanding students from FVHS and WSHS had their graduation ceremony at Fuquay-Varina Arts Center. Pumpkin was invited to be part of the celebration.

Then a casual shopping with me around Cary, Holly springs. And visited our old friend Cara Adcock at John Adcock’s parking lot.

Today we officially concluded Pumpkin’s last public appearance before shearing next week. Lots and lots of smiles as usual! Pumpkin always give perfect performance!

A successful opening day to start the seasons at FV Growers Market. This is a great place to support your local farmers and meet your local producers every Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm.

Pumpkin still around town, when you see him next time, he maybe a “naked” alpaca!

March and April are our busy time for garden. Kids that love animals and gardening showed up to help! Get some works done and hang out with Pumpkin and other furry friends. Instead of me taking my time away from garden to give tour on the farm, I got helping hands, kids have fun and exercise 🙂 ain’t they looked like a pro?

The last school visit before the shearing was Ballentine Elementary this morning. The enthusiasm is in the air, happy kids and happy teachers! No matter how many schools I toured, still amazed the joy Pumpkin brings to everyone. I don’t totally understand and that’s ok lol.

Staff from Newsobserver.com and Wake County Public School System were attending the event, they joined the fun day of Pumpkin!

If you wish to meet Pumpkin before shearing, we will be at FV Growers Market this Saturday at 10:00am. Will stay at least one hour. This event is opened to the public to attend.

Here is the video of Pumpkin “parade” the elementary school. He was so calm and well behaved in front of the kids, we are so proud! Thanks for the invitation from LaFayette Elementary School. Looks like everyone enjoyed the visit!

Pumpkin will be at FV Growers Market this Saturday 10:00am at Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce parking lot. He may stay for an hour. This is the last outing public appearance before the shearing and hot summer, and he is getting heavier for me to pick him up into the car lol.

Pumpkin visited a retirement center yesterday. He is the coolest the calmest and the most well behaved farm animals I know - of cause I’m bias lol.

Seniors folks get to pet to pet Pumpkin on a fabulous sunny day, seeing the smile on people’s face never get old.

At Century 21 Triangle Group - Fuquay Varina, NC, Pumpkin made enough friends to volunteer farm sitting the animals. We are praying for Becky at Becky Medlin Realty Inc , Pumpkin is going to visit her soon. Becky was the listing agent sold the farm to Pumpkin mom years ago, the new home to 40 farm animals call Fuquay home.

Pumpkin visited LaFayette Elementary School in Fuquay Varina, a warm welcome from all students and teachers and staffs. It’s so sweet to see kids drew banner to welcome Pumpkin!

Pumpkin visited little kids from kindergarten at Fuquay Varina Elementary School off Johnson pond road in Fuquay Varina.

Pumpkin visited pre-school kids at Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church

Two more schools in Fuquay and one school in willow springs tomorrow.

Prom day photography idea?

I’m thinking about a fun community event, put up your beautiful prom dress, have your pictures taken with Pumpkin and a brand new horse carriage? No horse only carriage. I purchased this carriage over a year ago haven’t put it into use, its collecting dust right now. The yard at the farm is very beautiful end of April and early May, azalea and magnolia are blooming.

Limited to local Fuquay 2022 graduates only. Depends on the response, maybe limit to 20-40 girls/couples, It will be outdoor event subject to weather condition of the day.

Location could be at the farm. It’s difficult to haul the horse carriage around town.

Will need two strong men volunteers to move the carriage around, one man can move it but it’s easier with two.

The event is free of charge, bring your own photographers/smartphone, or everyone chip in to hire a professional photographer.

Pumpkin visited the brand new fire truck with mayor Blake Massengill, Mayor Fuquay-Varina this morning.

Pumpkin visited Fuquay Varina High School this afternoon. I explained what it takes to raise alpaca and the special characteristics about alpacas to the students.

Many wonders who is this Pumpkin mom and why she share Pumpkin with the community free of charge. I explained this to a new friend just moved from California in recent months, they are building a new house in Fuquay.

I came to wake county North Carolina in 1998 as an international student, barely speak English and flat broke. I remember the very warm feeling I received as a young student in foreign land and being alone. I had received many kindness from Americans and I will always remember in my lifetime.

Population in wake county had increased by very large margin since 1998, now myself as a new resident in this small big town call Fuquay Varina, I do somehow wish to recreate the memory when I first arrived in the USA, a warm southern hospitality, supportive community, now and then a random kindness extended by a stranger.

When I’m in a position to help build the community I want to live, I’m very happy to do so.

Pumpkin made a quick stop to see some hairstylists. Brought joy to everyone.

Pumpkin’s human have business to run, and also running a mini farm with some farm animals. I wish I can go to every invitation but we are not really able to spare a lot of extra time to bring Pumpkin out just for showing. Have to turn down the invitation from Granvile county, Durham county and Franklin county, Or anything more than 10 minutes radius for now. Hope everyone understand.

The two dogs and Pumpkin traveled to North Raleigh for a quick errand, someone spotted Pumpkin at the parking lot and invited Pumpkin to a birthday party was held at the same complex. The kids had a blast!

Other people from the parking lot started to learn how to play frisbee with the dogs.

Sometimes it’s the animal to bring we the humans together, celebrate a moment of harmony and pure joy.

A quick stop at Holly Springs Police Department to say hi and met few officers and residents. Pumpkin doesn’t speak human language, but he sure can bring smile to people, alpaca petting probably can release some stress!

We now got the permission from the school principal Mr. Gaitan to post this video 🙂 it’s so full of joy hard to not share it.

Thanks for the invitation from Lincoln Heights ES PTA. The school has a coin war for the students, the principal and few teachers will get to kiss a farm animals of the winner’s choosing, and pumpkin was called for the job.

600 elementary school students seemed like they were over the moon excited to see Pumpkin. Pumpkin managed himself quiet well from all the loud screaming lol. I really don’t know why the kids so excited about a farm animal, but they surely do!

The amount of joy just priceless.

Dogs know where to find comfort at night. After chasing frisbee for hours, it’s really nice to rest your head on alpaca pillows, with the beloved frisbee under your paws.

Can’t help to share this video. The first time walk into a restaurant I appear to be invisible lol. “Hello, there is a hungry human there too”! At least the boy and the mom probably got their happiness moment of the day. It’s totally worth just for that!
