Wags To Riches: A Woman-Owned, Cage-Free Grooming & Pet Care Destination

Founded in May 2013, Wags To Riches began as a dream turned reality when owner and founder Connie Williams transitioned from the corporate world to pursue her passion for animals. With a deep love for pet care and a bold entrepreneurial spirit, Connie became certified in grooming and launched her business from a home salon.

Her commitment to quality, compassion, and a cage-free philosophy quickly earned her a loyal clientele. In 2017, Connie opened a storefront in Fuquay-Varina, where her personalized, crate-free grooming approach helped the business flourish and continue to grow. During the next 8 years, the salon grew and became even more successful because of the one commitment she keeps for the client’s - to never crate any of the dogs and to always “groom with a personal touch”. Wags to Riches is a woman owned small business and a true success story! Connie credits the success to the talented, hard-working and dedicated staff at the salon. She says her team is by far the most dedicated, caring and reliable team that any owner could wish for. “Without these girls, Wags wouldn’t be as successful as we are today”, says Connie. Today, Wags To Riches operates in a modern, state-of-the-art facility, offering expanded services to meet the needs of pet parents. In addition to our signature cage-free grooming, we now provide doggie daycare and overnight boarding—creating a safe, fun, and stress-free environment for your furry family members, whether they’re visiting for a quick groom or an extended stay.

I don’t even know where to begin - except maybe with a giant tail-wagging THANK YOU.

You all showed up and rolled up your sleeves to help make our grand opening a success. The long hours, the late nights, the pep talks to help me get through the tough days… you stuck with me through it all.

For the past two years, you’ve been my rock through the chaos, the stress, and the dream-chasing madness. Moving into our very own building wasn’t just a milestone—it was a leap of faith. And you were all there right alongside me. I couldn’t be prouder of the heart, hustle, and humor you bring to Wags To Riches every single day. Thank you all!

To my amazing friends and neighbors: your support, kind words, and help behind the scenes has meant the world. You showed up when I needed you most, and the memories we made together will be cherished for years.

We’ve finally made it! Our grand opening is this coming Saturday, August 30th at 2245 Grassland Dr, Fuquay Varina NC 27526.

Doggie Daycare – 4 spacious indoor playrooms + outdoor play areas
Overnight Boarding – 30 cozy, crate-free rooms designed for comfort and care
Each boarding room includes a comfy bed, blanket, and fresh water always. We tailor your pet’s stay to match their home routine — including feeding schedules, medications, potty breaks, and playtime.

Thursday May 1st we will open the July 2025 through December 2025 calender. Please remeber we will NOT book your appointments automatically, you will need to reach out to us. Whether you leave us a voicemail, text or email please be sure to include as much information as possible about your future appointment requests. For example how frequently you want to come in as well as day of week and morning, mid day or afternoons. If you are already a client that is scheduled on Saturdays we will continue to honor your Saturday appointments. At this time we are at capacity for Saturday appointments.

We send our love to her husband Dan Johnson and her sweet puppies Bella and Bentley. Cancer doesn’t have an age or time, it just comes and takes from us. You will always be in our hearts.

We are excited to announce that Wags to Riches is moving to a new space, and we want YOU to join us for the grand opening celebration!

Come visit us on Saturday, April 26th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to tour at 2245 Grassland Ave, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526.

Celebrate with us - Everyone is welcome but we ask that you leave your fur babies at home due to the volumn of guests that we are expecting!

In addition to our signature grooming services, we’re thrilled to offer daycare and boarding for your pets.



The Wags Story
Wags to Riches was founded in May 2013 by Connie Williams, who made the leap from the corporate world to follow her passion for animals and small business ownership.

After years of loving care for her pets and realizing her dream of running a business, she took the plunge in 2012, combining her love of animals with her entrepreneurial spirit.

Connie’s journey was not without its challenges. In 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer but faced the challenge head-on, never letting it stop her mission, hard work, and dedication to making her dream a reality.

In July 2017, Connie expanded into a storefront in Fuquay-Varina, continuing to grow the business and its loyal clientele.

Over the years, Wags to Riches has grown into a beloved local brand, known for its dedication to never crating dogs during grooming and providing personalized, high-quality service.

The Wags to Riches team has seen many changes over the years but continues to grow and thrive, thanks to the hard work and dedication of its incredible staff. Connie credits the success of Wags to Riches to her team, saying, “Without these girls, Wags wouldn’t be the success that it is today.”
