Connie has always loved taking care of animals and knew that owning a business of her own would be a rewarding experience. So, in 2012 she made the leap, took the risk, and combined the two into a passion that has no
w become a personal and community success, and Wags to Riches was born! She made the commitment to educate herself on how to groom, got certified, and started working out of her home salon. As her small business grew and her clientele grew with it, she encountered her first set-back. In 2016, Connie was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to fight a new battle. In typical Connie fashion, she rolled up her sleeves, determined to fight cancer and move on with her life, by mentoring, training and employing her step- daughter, Carsen Bowen, to groom and help operate the business. While Connie was fighting breast cancer and dealing with surgeries, her step-daughter was busy managing Wags to Riches and successfully keeping it going. In July 2017, with a successful dog-grooming business and growing clientele, Connie and Carsen became partners and moved into a storefront location in Fuquay-Varina. During the next 4 years, the salon grew and became even more successful because of the one commitment they keep for their client’s - to never crate any of the dogs and to always “groom with a personal touch”. Wags to Riches is a woman owned small business and a true success story! Today, Carsen has moved on and started her own salon, but Wags to Riches continues to thrive and grow. Connie credits the success to the talented, hard-working and dedicated staff at the salon. She says her team is by far the most dedicated, caring and reliable team that any owner could wish for. “Without these girls, Wags wouldn’t be as successful as we are today”, says Connie. Wags to Riches commitment to its employees, its clients, and the “fur babies” has always been the number one priority, and they promise to continue to follow the policies and practices that keep clients happy and returning week after week. Wags To Riches is a crate free grooming salon that offers dedicated service to its clients. We take pride in providing a service that most salon’s do not offer: a crate-free method of grooming and scheduling our clients to the exact time needed to complete the groom. Our mission is to provide less stress for the dog and quicker completion of grooming sessions to allow a more positive, safe, and stress-free environment for both the animal and the owner.
