Thank you to all of my awesome clients for working with me to get their pups in before I'm out for a month for surgery! For those of you who need an appointment I'll start booking again at the beginning of July I believe.

Given the CRAZY tick season though I wanted to share the shampoo that I use. Quadruped Pet Care's Yucca based products are not only super gentle on your pet's coat but a natural flea and tick killer as well! It doesnt hurt that it smells amazing which is all the better!

It will NOT react with topical flea/tick meds.

For general purpose cleaning it can be diluted with 1 gallon making about 8 gallons. For skin issues and those pesky ticks you apply it undiluted on a dry coat - let sit for about 5 minutes (read: as long as your pet will be patient) and then rinse and wash as normal.

You can find them here: https://www.quadrupedpetcare.com/

Or on amazon.

I look forward to seeing all of my client's wagging tails and sweet faces in July!💜🐾

Pet Grooming Services

Dear clients and friends...I was hoping not to have to make this announcement yet but due to a high risk pregnancy I am unable to continue grooming my large breed clients much sooner than I had anticipated.

I am working to find another groomer to direct everyone to and will get in touch with those who have standing appointments today.

I sincerely apologize. Many of my large and giant breed clients are some of my favorite dogs but my body simply is not holding up to the rigors of grooming or bathing them.
I am hoping to be back to grooming regularly in June and will make an announcement as my family, doctor, and I decide it is safe for me to do so.

Thank you for your years of patronage and trusting me to take care of your pets and their needs. I wish you all the best for the Holidays.

We are on covid quarantine here for 14 days. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it is in everyone's best interest to stay healthy.

Luna and Lilly came by for hair cuts! These girls are ALL personality and great examples of what puts the OODLE in Goldendoodle! We all had so much fun during their visit! Luckily their owner was nice enough to let me borrow her finish photo because I was so busy loving on these girls I spaced on good preclip and finish photos.🤦‍♀️

I wanted to take a minute to explain why I don't offer a shedless treatment. Ms. Sweetie made the perfect example.

Firstly - all animals with fur shed. There is no changing that.

Secondly - it often turns out that after grooming pets will shed MORE after a week as their hair follicles are stimulated during grooming.

Thirdly - I do not use Furminators or anything of the sort as they CUT the dog's hair and can very easily cause brush burn on your pet's skin.

And lastly - I truly believe it is the responsibility of your groomer to brush, bathe, and brush again! If we take the time to adequately brush and wash our clients there is no reason for them to be dropping fur when they leave!

This is SO important! I have seen dogs with breaks and dislocations from not being picked up or carried correctly!

Always support your pet's chest and rump! Never pick them up by their legs. Your pet and your wallet will thank you.💕

Both you and your dog will benefit if you learn the proper way to pick up your pup—and techniques you should never use. Here's how to carry your dog correctly.

Happy National Dog Day!

This is Teddy, my Shih Tzu and grooming companion. He soothes scared dogs and plays with the younger ones. He keeps the cats in line and breaks up squabbles.. It is impossible not to smile when he howls greetings at you. Ted has taught and learned from both the big and little man in my life.. He wasn't always the dog he is today, and I'll be honest I never envisioned myself with a Shih Tzu. However he was a little blessing in disguise and has grown into an amazing companion animal.

What's your pet's story?

With the fall shedding/mud season creeping in I want to remind everyone to try and schedule sooner rather than later for grooming appointments!

As I only do 1 dog or family a day even if I groom 7 days a week it can lead to my schedule booking up very quickly.

I will happily do reminder calls or reschedule your pet's appointment if plans change!

Gorgeous dog🥰
Steadiness is usually trained into competitive or working dogs but rarely trained into pets! However, it is an absolutely wonderful tool to keep your pet obeying your "sit" or "stay" etc even in the face of every day "go" triggers like opening the door or getting your pet leashed up for a walk.

When you get your 8 week old puppies, please keep these images in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

When you're letting your puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

Clients, friends, and family
I have a client who is a small terrier mix looking for a home.
She is about 15lbs
Middle aged
Upbeat, very sweet and loves kids.
She has a ton of personality and her favorite hobbies are sunning herself outside, cuddling, long walks with her people and giving puppy eyes for treats. I have groomed and boarded her. She is great with cats, and usually good with other dogs but can be a bit bossy.
She would do best with a fenced in yard but is fine with being walked or leashed.

Please let me know if you are interested or know someone who is!

Charlie and Scooby definitely deserve a MIP groom dog award today. It is so rewarding to watch and help dogs work through the parts that stress them out and learn that grooming is really not so bad.🥰🥇
