Part of being a DOG owner is training and getting them to live a life in a humane world. Most of the time with adult dogs that are adopted or rehomed, we don’t know what trauma they have gone through. So loving, patient and compassionate care is required.

Did you know it is illegal to transport rescues dogs to some states if they are positive for heartworms? Wisconsin is one of those states.

**UPDATE: a rescue in Wisconsin, Paws Up Pet Rescue are able to help Elvis. ❤️ He’s going to get an amazing home!!

This is Elvis, a 4 year old, neutered, schnauzer mix is in NEED of immediate placement. Dog Love Foundation is trying to help get him to a safe home! He loves other dogs. And getting used to cats. Loves cuddles ❤️!!!

He was found being attached by a large roaming dog. With no owner the Good Samaritan took him in and cared for him. He spent many days at the veterinary hospital near DEATH.

He is happy and healthy and needs a home. Can anyone help!

The Good Samaritan has been living with friends during his recovery because she could not have dogs. Now she must go home and cannot take Elvis with her.

Alabama House Bill 551 prohibits tethering a dog outside between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. or anytime without access to shelter if the temperature is below 32 degrees.

Unfortunately the bill never became a law.

This is the law for cruelty in Alabama.
**A person commits the crime of cruelty to a dog or cat in the second degree if he or she, in a cruel manner, overloads, overdrives, deprives of necessary sustenance or shelter, unnecessarily or cruelly beats, injuries, mutilates, or causes the same to be done. Cruelty to a dog or cat in the second degree is a Class A misdemeanor.**

The Dog Love Foundation is always learning and finding ways to make a change. Miss Heather DLove is in a week long Alabama Animal Control Academy Training through Alabama Animal Control Association.

Heather is able to apply all her veterinary nursing skills in this training. The training will allow her to also be an expert witness in animal abuse, dangerous dog and hoarding cases.

Every city needs an Animal Control officer appointed. They focus on protecting the community from zoonotic diseases (rabies), protect the public, protect the animal, work to enforce city ordinance and educate the public.

Our volunteer foster dog mom saw in a desolate field, a tiny puppy stumbles through the tall grass, lost and alone. Fear gnaws at her heart as the sun sets and the darkness closes in, casting long, eerie shadows. Her stomach rumbles with hunger, and her longs for a warm and cozy place to call home. But all her finds is emptiness and despair.

Not even close! The real question is are they domesticated or are they small little tigers?

These guys watched me the whole time I was caring for them while their mom was on vacation.

Most studies show cats started settling in agricultural cities as the mice and rats became an issue around 9,500 years ago. We didn’t need cats they need us:) MUTUALISTIC VS SYMBIOTIC.

❤️ ❤️ UPDATE: Rocky will be boarding at a local veterinary clinic while mom recovers. Follow for any future update. ❤️ ❤️

The Dog Love Foundation non profit has a special place for senior dogs and helping people that can no longer keep their fur babies. We do it in a small and loving way with many small dogs.

Check out Rocky. His 92yr old mom has fallen and possibly broken her hip. She will not be able to care for him during rehabilitation and after:(

Is there anyone that could take care of him. He is a male, neutered, current on vaccines, on preventative, potty trained, 8 years old. He likes kids and other dogs, has to get to know men before he likes them. He will bark at men. He lives with in a senior living facility. He is around other residents grandchildren. He needs a ramp to get on the sofa. He just had his teeth cleaned a few months ago.

This little pup has been dumped. I’ve asked everyone and looked everywhere for any siblings or a mom and have to accept that she does not have a home:(

She is a 7 week old, smaller breed, maybe will be around 25/30 pounds or smaller. The Dog Love Foundation has taken her in as their first rescue of 2024. Started deworming, vaccines, on flea/tick and getting a lot of socializing and potty training.

Follow and see where she will go on her new and exciting journey.

The Dog Love Foundation 2023 dog food drive was a huge success. Today we delivered 2 doggie baskets and lots of treats to help God’s mission, which is through Andy Minton.

He spread the word and worship of Christ. He is going to be able to provide those he helps with food for their beloved four legged family.

This holiday season we want to treat our pets with yummy foods. Fats should be a part of your pets diet but when they have medical concerns or liver issues high fats can be bad.
