I have 21 years of experience in the grooming profession, including animal care in general. I began as a veterinary assistant with Dr. Moss at Bells Animal Clinic and with Dr. Hunt at Hunt's Animal Clinic, both in 1995. My education in grooming began at Bells Animal Clinic under the direction of Emily Griffin. Hunt during that period as vet assistant and groomer and continued until his passing on
March 6, 2001. I then became employed by Petsmart in Jackson, Tn. I continued my education with my employment at Petco of Jackson, Tn in 2003. In 2009, I joined Kylee at Pampered Pooch in Alamo, Tn. In 2011 my friend Bridget, at the time acting manager for Bath, Brush, and Beyond (then owned by Sarah Pritchett) led me to join their amazing team of wonderful groomers. I continued working there (with a brief hiatus) until May 6, 2015. I do have clients who make the 30 mile drive from Jackson, Tn. in order to keep my services. We believe that the relationship between our clients' pets and their groomer is vital to the pets' comfort and well being. We grow attached to one another, have a routine that the pet and client become accustomed to and expect. We also promote as quiet and comfortable an environment as possible which reduces stress. The atmosphere does not feel like a salon...it feels like home. I do not use kennel dryers unless a dog is stressed by the hand dryer. All dogs are dried by hand. While we currently are not set up for grooming large breeds, we are adding a hydraulic table within the next 2 weeks which will support any dog up to 200 lbs. We also plan to enlarge our building and add a separate boarding facility within the next year which will include safely fenced in areas for the dogs to run and play in and ensure they are not constantly in a kennel. Our prices are competitive. Any clients who are already with us are assured that their fee is locked in for as long as they remain a client. If you have been with us since Pampered Pooch, Petco, or Bath, Brush, and Beyond, you will pay the amount you have been paying me for the last year. Furthermore, if you become a client, we will not raise rates without providing you the information well in advance. Higher rates would only occur due to higher cost of products. However, I have not raised my fees since 2009 and have no desire to. While it is appreciated if appointments are scheduled one day in advance, I do accept same day appointments. We accept checks and cash, and intend to begin accepting visa and mastercard eventually. I know how badly a safe, clean boarding facility is needed. You have all requested this from us for a number of years. Please be patient as we take our time in planning this portion of our service to ensure all guidelines and legalities are met and to ensure the safest environment possible for your beloved family members.
