We’re getting ready for Fall Dog Fest on November 15th at Curia on the Drag (Gainesville, FL) — and we need YOU to help make it amazing! 💪🐶

Hosted by Swampland Husky Rescue with Sweet Water Veterinary Clinic on site offering low-cost vet care 💉❤️

We’re looking for:
🛍 Dog-friendly vendors (all food vendors must be vegan 🌱)
🤝 Volunteers to help with setup, games, photo ops, and greeting guests!

Come enjoy a day filled with 🍂 fall pupcups, 🍎 apple bobbing, 📸 photo ops, 🎶 music, and so much more — all while helping dogs in need find their forever homes! 🐕💖

Denali

Before Swampland Husky Rescue ever had a name, there was Denali — our Rescue Zero. The dog who started it all.
He came to us broken, unwanted, and overlooked… and because of him, we found our purpose. Denali inspired us to save so many others just like him — the dogs with no options left, the ones everyone else walked away from.

We’ve now learned that Denali has cancer. 💔
Our hearts are shattered, but his legacy lives on in every single rescue we’ve saved since the day he came home.

The show must go on — because that’s what Denali taught us. 🐾
We’ll still be at the Downtown Vintage Market in Ocala on November 8th and Dog Fest at Curia on the Drag in Gainesville on November 15th.

✨ Meet Zeke ✨
This stunning 4–5-year-old Siberian Husky is as beautiful in spirit as he is in looks. With his striking black-and-white coat — marked by two perfect hearts (one on his side and one on his neck) — and those mesmerizing blue eyes, Zeke is truly one of a kind. 💙🐾

Zeke’s story is one of love and loyalty. He and his lifelong companion, Freya, were found abandoned in heartbreaking condition — underweight, filthy, and neglected. Through recovery, Zeke never left Freya’s side. He watched over her, comforted her, and loved her through every challenge until her final moments. Their bond was pure and profound… and Zeke carries her gentle spirit with him still. 🤍

Today, Zeke is healthy, calm, and ready for his new beginning. He’s crate and house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and takes treats with the sweetest manners. 🐕✨ He just needs a daily liver supplement — a small thing for such a big heart.

Zeke would do best in a home without cats or small dogs, but he’s tolerant of dogs his size and thrives with kindness and patience. Now, he’s searching for a forever family who will give him the same unconditional love he gave to Freya.

Kona is a 6-year-old Husky looking for a new forever home! 💙

He was adopted from Alachua County Animal Resources just two months ago, but sadly needs to be rehomed due to his owner’s allergies.

“He’s great with other dogs and loves to play! He’s housebroken, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations.”

🌟 Rescue Spotlight Update: Kaldr (formerly Rocco ) 🌟

Over two years ago, Kaldr’s life almost ended. He was found tied to a pole and brought back to Lee County Domestic Animal Services — his second time in the shelter. Because of that, and some fearful, bitey behavior toward staff, he was placed on the euthanasia list.

At the time, Swampland Husky Rescue wasn’t even partnered with the shelter. We called every Husky rescue we could find — some couldn’t help, others didn’t respond. With just one hour left before his deadline, a partnered rescue finally agreed to help us pull him.

From there, Kaldr began his journey. He completed obedience training, blossoming through positive reinforcement and patience. Despite all his progress, no adopters ever came forward.

So, we took a different path. Kaldr continued training and eventually became a task-trained service animal — proving that even the most misunderstood dogs can thrive with love, structure, and a second chance. 🐾

💫 Today, Kaldr works as a service dog — and his favorite workplace is Universal Studios Orlando! He recently spent the night at Halloween Horror Nights, confidently walking through haunted houses without hesitation.

From the euthanasia list to helping his handler navigate the world — Kaldr is living proof that every dog deserves a chance to shine. ❤️

Zeek’s been waiting far too long.
He’s a big, beautiful Alaskan Husky with the sweetest soul 💔

Zeek needs a foster or forever home now.
He does best as the only pet — no small dogs or cats — but he’s amazing with kids and absolutely loves people.

He’s about 6 years old, strong, loyal, and still full of life. All he wants is a safe place to belong.

Please, if you’ve ever thought about fostering or adopting, this is the moment.
