Freya and Zeek - strays who need our help
Freya and Zeek were rescued from the streets of High Springs, FL, where they were found wandering together. A compassionate citizen picked them up and contacted us. They were taken in for scanning, but unfortunately, neither had a microchip. Although our county has a 7-day hold, we can't bear the thought of Freya waiting that long for treatment, so we're rushing her to the vet as soon as possible. Despite her challenges, including being underweight, struggling with severe eye issues that impair her vision, and battling mange, Freya's spirit remains unbroken. She also has lingering issues with her left ear, likely from an old injury. We suspect they may both be positive for heartworms or other parasites, and they have masses that need to be removed.
Now, we're calling on our Husky Warriors community to rally around these incredible dogs! We urgently need a foster home that can care for both Freya and Zeek together, as their bond is truly unbreakable. Freya adores Zeek, and he protected her during their time on the streets. We also need your financial support to ensure they receive the best possible veterinary care, as we cannot rely solely on animal services. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to giving Freya and Zeek the second chance they so desperately deserve. Roger is a 2 year old male Lab/Husky (to our best guess). We saved him at the last minute from being euthanized for pulling on the leash while walking. Since then, Roger has been given a second chance at life! We've worked on his leash manners and he's much happier outside the stressful shelter.
Roger is still, after months and months, looking for a foster or forever home. Husky experience not required as this guy has lots of Lab personality traits, too - like being a loyal companion. Roger is friendly with children and other dogs. Roger is crate trained and house trained and even rides in the car well. He is food motivated and willing to please, so he's easy to work with. He loves sniffing and exploring but also, laying out on your bed! Like all of our dogs, Roger is up to date on vaccines/rabies, altered, and microchipped.
Upon foster or adoption, our dogs come with collar, harness, leash, bowls, food, treats, toys, bed, and a crate! Not only will you not have to visit the vet for a year thanks to our wonderful financial support and terrific veterinarian, you won't have to go out and drop a ton of money on dog supplies (thanks to Ben, the Boy Scouts of America, and his Eagle Scout project)!
