Welcome Ice Cream Sandwich to Swampland Husky Rescue 🍦🐾

While our rescue is currently closed for intake, sometimes a call comes in that we just can’t ignore. Sweet Ice Cream Sandwich was recently adopted, but sadly wasn’t the right fit with her adopter’s dogs. Rather than see her bounced around again, we stepped in to give her the safe place she deserves.

She’s now with one of our fosters in Salisbury, NC — but this morning, she suddenly began vomiting blood and needs urgent veterinary care. 💔

On top of this emergency, our rescue van repairs have already cost us over $7,000, leaving us stretched thinner than ever. We desperately need your help to cover both Ice Cream Sandwich’s medical care and to keep our transport van on the road so we can continue saving lives.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference for her and for the countless huskies still waiting for their chance. From all of us (and especially Ice Cream Sandwich) — thank you for standing with us. 💙

Swampland Husky Rescue will be at the Downtown Vintage Market (Gainesville Edition) on October 4th, 12–5 PM at Bo Diddley Plaza!

Come shop 50+ vintage and handmade vendors, grab some food, enjoy live music 🎶, and—most importantly—meet some of our adoptable Huskies! 🐺💙

👉 We’re also looking for volunteers to help hold dogs and hang out with us during the event. It’s a great way to get involved, love on some pups, and support rescue!

Meet Ice Cream Sandwich — a 4-year-old black & white Husky girl located at Forsyth County Animal Shelter in Winston-Salem, NC.

She’s the full Husky package:

✨ Super wiggly & friendly
✨ Enjoys “talking”
✨ Dog-friendly and does great with other pups

Sadly, she’s not thriving in the shelter environment and is currently on medication just to cope. 💔 As a municipal shelter with limited space, her time is running short — without rescue placement, she’s at risk.
