🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.

Happy HOWL-ween! Keep the spooky fun for the humans and the scary far away from your pets! Three essential tips to keep your pets safe this Halloween:

🍫 No candy for pets! Chocolate and xylitol (found in sugar-free treats) are highly toxic to pets. Keep all goodies out of reach - and watch those sneaky paws!
👻 Costume caution! Not all pets love dressing up. If they do, make sure costumes fit comfortably without restricting movement or breathing. Safety over style!
🏡 Stress-free zone! Trick-or-treaters and doorbells can overwhelm pets. Set up a cozy, quiet space where they can relax, and make sure they don’t dash out the door.

It was such a fun day with the sweetest dogs AND the sweetest treats at our adoption event with Williston Animal Group! 🐾🎃

We provided nail trims and ear cleanings, had some of our staff participate in a Trunk-or-Treat, and of course had to host a Puppy "Paw-ty" decked out with a ball pool. ❤️
