When she finished college with a degree in mathematics, she applied to the Signal Corps and was employed as a “Computer.” She worked on all types of calculations brought in by the lab's scientists and technicians. At first, no one in the office would speak to her but she pushed ahead solving problems other couldn’t. Eventually, she was promoted to “Mathematician” and was the only Black woman in her group with the training that went with the title. She worked on various top-secret projects including the response to the Soviet launch of Sputnik, and others having to do with testing nuclear detonations. 1️⃣ Check for stress or recent changes. Cats are sensitive to shifts in their environment, like moving furniture, new people, or other pets. Create a calm, consistent space for them.
2️⃣ Offer their favourite treats or warm their food. Warming their meal can enhance the aroma and make it more appealing.
3️⃣ Clean their food and water bowls. Cats are picky and might avoid eating if their bowls aren’t spotless.
4️⃣ Switch up their food. Try a different flavour or brand that might excite their taste buds.
5️⃣ Monitor for other symptoms. If they seem lethargic, are hiding, or show unusual behaviour, it could signal an underlying issue.
