By now we hope you have heard that Oaks Veterinary Hospital has a New Doctor, New Team, and a New Level of Care. Well, we want to introduce you to an integral part of that New Team. Meet our new "Office Managers" Millie and Stevie. These girls were found during hurricane Milton and quickly stole our hearts. They have also quickly taken over being the bosses and make sure we all stay on task and administer the appropriate amount of kisses and snuggles. In typical catitude fashion they make their demands known and require their human staff to cater to their every need. For now they will stay behind the scenes until they are a little bit older, wiser and fully vaccinated. But we will be sure to keep you updated on what new demands they require of us and when they will make their appearance to meet their adoring fans!

Finally, last but certainly not least on our week of recognition of these amazing ladies, is Gabby.
Gaby is our veterinary assistant and you will find her all around the clinic from answering phones to helping out with appointments, she is a jack of all trades.
Gaby is a huge animal lover who could talk about dogs and horses all day. Gaby has a love for insects, so much so that she gradated with her degree in Entomology. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is caring for the animals and making a lasting impact on their lives.
When Gaby isn't working or playing with bugs, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs, two cats and bearded dragon. She also enjoys volunteering. Gaby feels very lucky that she gets to help your fur baby feel their very best.

Thursday Veterinary Technician week spotlight goes to Cheyenne
Cheyenne grew up in Indiana and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Biology with the intent of attending veterinary school in the near future. From a young age, Cheyenne has been interested in animals and has longed to be a veterinarian. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the connection she gets to develop with the animals and being an advocate for the ones that do not have a voice.
Outside of veterinary medicine Cheyenne enjoys living in Gainesville with her husband and two dogs. She is an adrenaline ju**ie who also enjoys reading, hiking, jogging and walking her dogs. In her spare time you can find Cheyenne learning as much as possible about microbiology and marine biology.

Next up to recognize for Veterinary Technician's week is our Lead Technician Maite.
Maite has been in the veterinary field for the last 5 years and graduated from veterinary technician school 4 years ago with the goal to work with animals and help them in any way possible. Her favorite thing about being a technician is dental education. She feels as though routine dentals and showing owners the importance of good oral hygiene for their pets is an integral part of veterinary medicine and something she has recently become very passionate about.
When Maite is not busy helping animals she enjoys spending time with her family including her 3 children, her cat, and her dog. She enjoys theme parks and traveling. Maite's life goal is the live on the beach where she can be close to sea turtles.

Our first technician highlight of the week is Liz.
Liz is the first face you will see when you walk in and the last face you will see when you leave. She is our Lead Client Care Specialist and Receptionist, she also has many years of technician experience behind her and is knowledgeable in so many areas.
A little about Liz, Liz has been in the veterinary field since 2016 and has for as long as she can remember been interested in learning about and helping animals when they aren't able to help themselves. She has been deemed the Angry Chihuahua Whisperer and takes that title very seriously. At home, Liz has a little farm with all kinds of critters ranging from chickens to pigeons to tortoises and koi fish. She loves to spend time with her family exploring nature. Veterinary medicine has helped to shape Liz's life into one where she feels she can make a difference for the ones that do not have a voice.
