This really sweet little guy is Snowball! Snowball is about a year old, is super snuggly and great with all dogs (he's learning how to dog but is very gentle, submissive, sweet and playful). He was returned to Puppy Hill Farm Animal Rescue through no fault of his own and is looking for his new FURever person or family.

Teach Your Pup the “Place” Cue! 🐶

Does your dog jump on guests? Beg at the table? Rush the door? Teaching them a “place” cue can be a game-changer! With a little training (and some tasty treats 🍖), you can teach your pup to go to a designated spot—helping to curb problem behaviors while also keeping them happy and relaxed.

🛠 How to Teach It:
1️⃣ Choose a spot (bed, mat, towel)
2️⃣ Lead your dog to it & reward when they stay put
3️⃣ Introduce a release cue so they know when they’re free
4️⃣ Gradually increase duration & distractions

Start small with positive reinforcement, and soon your pup will settle into their place like a pro!

Today is National Peanut Butter Day! 🥜 In honor of this yummy holiday, we wanted to share an easy peanut butter* recipe you can whip up as a treat for your dog. It’s made with just 3 ingredients and sure to help make your pup’s day.

*Just be sure any peanut butter you use is xylitol free! Your best bet is to purchase a PB where the only ingredient is Peanuts, as xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs.

Got a talkative pup? Teaching them the "quiet" command can help curb excessive barking while keeping it fun! Here's how:

🔔 Use a trigger like a doorbell to get your dog to bark.
👀 Acknowledge the source of the barking, then get their attention with a treat or toy.
🤫 Once they stop barking, reward them!
🗣️ Gradually add in the cue word like “quiet” and repeat until they catch on.
⏳ Keep training sessions short and consistent for the best results!

Patience + practice = a well-mannered pup! 🐶

Makaroon and his FURRiends playing inside today (there was lots of inside play).

We do plan to be open tomorrow (Mike and staff will be onsite for the boarding crew), so if you need us we'll be here! BUT be very careful on the roads, if you need to be out AND we get the ice and snow that is being forecast.

If you need to drop off for daycare and are worried about road conditions near pickup, you can always change a daycare stay into a boarding stay!

Our clients love their grooms with our full service groomer Jessica and junior groomer Sarah who is fantastic with nails, baths and basic grooms - we do everything we can to make grooms stress-free for our pup clients (they aren't ever caged and we move at a pace they are comfortable with). We'll ALWAYS work slowly to get them acclimated and we won't charge you till we get the job done (i.e. if your pup is done after a few nails, we won't charge you for nails until we get them all done - even if it takes a few visits)!

Kylo LOVED his groom with Sarah SO much that we had to actually wake him up to get him to move occasionally in the tub so that we could rinse him well and then on the grooming table to dry him completely 🤣🤣🤣

This is our sweet employee Michaela and very good girl furry employee Tegan (her good boy brother furry employee is Oakley)! Michaela has been a trusted employee since 2022!

Michaela works overnight shifts and on Sundays, when it's just like a resort around CAMP! The pups snuggle up for Netflix but also play outside as they wish (they have a blast). We always trust that the pups are in good hands with Michaela and we know that she loves each and every single pup she looks after!

Here are some pics of her crew this past rainy Sunday when there was a lot of inside snuggling between outside play sessions (Michaela takes really great pics of the pups she looks after)!

🚨🐶 SHORT-TERM DOG FOSTERS NEEDED 🐶🚨

In anticipation of the incoming winter weather, we want to get as many dogs out of the shelter and into warm homes as possible. We are only asking for a 5-7 day commitment, and all supplies will be provided. If you fall in love with your foster dog, we'll waive your adoption fee to thank you for fostering.

If you are able to help, please stop in tomorrow between 10:30am and 4:00pm. We have dogs of all ages, sizes, and energy levels, and we can help match you with a foster dog. Walk-ins are welcome, no appointments necessary.
