Dr. Cynthia Westbrook purchased the clinic in 1992 and is the current veterinarian there. Her husband, Wray Westbrook, is the office manager and groomer. Grand Avenue Animal Clinic is mainly focused on dogs and cats. We provide wellness care for pets, medical examinations, medical diagnosis and disease treatment, and heartworm and flea prevention. We have diagnostic equipment to include Xray, ultr
asound, CBC, Blood chemistries, and several in house quick tests such as those for heartworm, feline leukemia and feline AIDs, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease, and Anaplasmosis, and f***l parasites. We provide a limited amount of grooming, subject to availability for our clinic clients. We have prescription and wellness foods for dogs and cats. The brand we carry is Hill's. We stock a pharmacy to provide medications that are used to treat our animal clients. Our typical schedule is appointments and diagnostics on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays are set aside for surgeries. We have a small staff and so we have a "working lunch". From 11:30 to 1:30, we do the work dropped off or surgeries and the doors are closed for that time. We refer emergencies to two fine emergency clinics in the area, Denton County Animal Emergency Clinic, 1-800-876-0060, and Grayson County Animal Emergency Clinic, 1-903-337-0898. We live in the local area and are interested in relationships with our clients. Dr. Westbrook is a long standing member of the AVMA and TVMA. She attends at least 17 hours of continuing education a year, many times much more. Our office policy doesn't include charge accounts. Payment is expected at the time of service. However, we have many forms of payment, cash, local checks with proper identification, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, other cards, and CareCredit, which can work like a credit card or an extended loan, depending on how your account is set up.
