We would like to take a second to say THANK YOU to all of our clients that have donated to our pet food drive for GRACE Marketplace! So far this month, you have helped supply over 300 lbs of dry pet food and over 125 cans of wet food to help feed homeless pets in need. 💙💚

We will be accepting donations through the end of the month, so feel free to bring any unopened pet food to your pet’s next appointment (all locations even have openings today!). A reminder that you can get a free nail trim for your pet for donating a 15lb. bag of dry food, 12 cans of wet dog food, or 24 cans of wet cat food! Limit 1 nail trim per pet.

The rainy season is here, and so is Leptospirosis. Multiple cases have been reported in Alachua County, which means it’s time for a reminder to keep your pet protected by making sure their Lepto vaccine is up to date!

Did you know approximately 10% of the homeless population has pets?* While an inspirational show of the human-animal bond, keeping a pet can also make it significantly harder for a homeless individual to find the resources they need as homeless shelters have not always accepted animals.

Luckily here in Gainesville, GRACE Marketplace operates with the needs of four-legged family members in mind. As the first animal-inclusive low barrier homeless shelter in the region, GRACE is in extreme need of pet food - and we want to help!

Throughout the month of June, drop any un-opened pet food at any of our locations to donate to GRACE Marketplace and help a homeless pet in need. Those who donate a 15lb. bag of dry food, 12 cans of wet dog food, or 24 cans of wet cat food will receive a FREE nail trim for their pet (limit 1 per pet).

Psssst.. there’s a been a recent change to Alachua County’s pet licensing requirements!

Take a look at the update below or visit NewberryAnimalHospital.com/pet-licensing for more information. Please note that if your pet receives a 3-year Rabies vaccine, you will still need to update their license on the anniversary of that vaccine each year through Alachua County Animal Services. 🐾

Did you know that every dog, cat, and ferret over 4 months of age in Alachua County is required to be licensed? 🐶🐱 With our new digital option for licensing, it's never been easier! After you register and pay the $25 annual fee, you will receive a tag with a bar code unique to your pet, so if your pet is ever found, this will help them get home much faster.
