Goal: For every dog to be as loved and cozy as Zero, formerly Danny Phantom, clearly is in his new home! Please enjoy this wonderful update from Zero's family! ❤️🐾

"My name is Jennifer, and I adopted a male white pit mix 2-3wks ago, and I wanted to share that he is doing amazing and blending into our family perfectly. A few workers made a massive difference for me during the adoption process on the day that I met this dog, and I was wondering if there’s any way whoever opens this email could share my message so those folks know just how AMAZING I think they are!!! I apologize I didn’t catch anyone’s names!

Here are some cute pics too. We changed his name to Zero, like the dog in nightmare before Christmas. You all are angels, and your hard work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated!"

"Spaghetti or not, here I come....🍝🐕💃

I'm Lasagna, a deep dish of love! All of my friends (and I have MANY) say I'm pasta-tively sweet. Okay, maybe that was a little cheesy, but I AM extremely affectionate. I have my moments of feeling saucy and wanting to go zoom zoom, but I simmer down into quite the cuddle bug. I have spent time in foster homes, and I adored the 12 year old little girl who cuddled with me and have been a total lovebug for my current foster momma. My foster families also introduced me to car rides (I call shotgun!), squeaky toys, got me almost completely housebroken, and reported I am crate trained. I am still gaining my confidence with other dogs and do best with a slow introduction, but I've never met a human stranger and long for my own family. Oh, and if you adopt me, you should know I won't cost a pretty penne - my adoption fee is sponsored, so I can be yours for free! That's a steal if you ask me, so let's fall in love today!"

Lasagna is returning from her foster home today and is finally ready to find her forever home! Come in and meet Lasagna and all of our other adoptable dogs Tuesday- Saturday, 10:30 - 5:30 🐾🐕

🐶❤️ Foster Feature: Dot! ❤️🐶

The adorable Dot just returned from her foster home and is on our adoption floor, ready to meet you and share her report card from her foster family about what a good girl she was. Come in and visit Dot and all of our adoptable pets Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 - 5:30.

"Is that a spot, a spot in your heart for DOT? I’m Dot, and my polka dot ear is a showstopper. I mean, have you SEEN how cute I am?! Anyway, I’m newer to ACAR but was lucky enough to have already spent time in two foster homes, and my report cards have been just fabulous. My foster families have said I’m generally quiet and love my snuggle time on the sofa. They were teaching me how to walk on a leash (I’m already so much improved), commands like sit and paw, and how to control my wiggles when I see a new friend. I am very food and toy motivated, and my bunny hops to pounce on my toys will keep you giggling. I get overwhelmed by other dogs and much prefer to have your attention all to myself, so I would thrive in a single-pet home. You could sign on the dotted line and take me home today...no pressure or anything...but maybe we could meet at least? Pretty please?"

"Don't mind me, just hopping over to say hello! 🥺❤️ I'm Nibbles, an adult lop ear bunny girl who is simply ear-resistable. While rabbits need more care than most people realize, I'm easy-going and don't mind gentle pets and quiet exploring, and the staff can go over proper housing, diet, and care with you to make sure we'll be a good match together. Hop into ACAR soon to meet me!" 🐇

Nibbles is available for adoption! Come visit us Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 - 5:30. 🐾

Sir Bubbalicious of Gainesville (Bubba) recently went on a Doggy Day Out adventure fit for a king thanks to his volunteer pal, Justin. 👑🐾 Read about his royal outing below, and make sure to come in and meet Bubba Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 - 5:30. Don't forget - all adoption fees are WAIVED this month!

"Today was my first day doing doggy day out with this shelter. I chose to take Bubba. He was in kennel number 5. Bubba was excited to see me when I got there. We loaded up and off we went. I gave him a pig’s ear that I had and he settled in the back, chomping down. We rode around downtown a little while as I let him get more comfortable . I rode to Deport Village and went inside. Bubba following right along. We said hi to a few people and sat out on the porch relaxing. Bubba drank a bowl of water and crashed out. This place is great for distressing dogs and people for that matter. After a little nap we proceeded over to Depot Park for a little walk. The temperature was up, so we didn’t make it that far. Bubba stopped for some more water and then decided to park it at a table under a tree. We sat there letting Bubba enjoy the day and the time being outside. He’s been such a gentleman so far and I couldn’t wait to take him more places. We loaded back up and headed towards 13th Street. We hit Starbucks and Bubba got a couple of pup cups. He loved them. We then headed to the UPS store to return a package and he got plenty of attention from the staff. I had to stop at Lowe’s and I figured that Bubba would want to come in. Wrong. He was deeply involved in chewing on a knuckle bone that I gave him for the ride over there. We then went to the Pet Supermarket for some fish supplies. Once again he just wanted to chew on that bone while sitting in the a.c. Fine. It was getting time to start heading back, so I took the long way and let Bubba enjoy every moment he could on his day out. We got back and I gave him a little cupcake shaped treat that I got him from the pet store. I hated having to leave him. I hated not being able to spend more time with him today. He is such a sweet and gentle boy. Easy to walk and really calm. He would make a great family dog or a companion for someone. I really enjoyed being with him today and hope others get a chance to see just how wonderful he really is." ❤️

Drum roll, please......116 ADOPTIONS!!!! 🥳🎉🎊

Our goal was 100 pets into loving homes. We hit our goal and then some, and as we were taking this picture, we had one more adult dog adopted, bringing our grand total to 116. We are completely BLOWN AWAY by our community stepping up for us and the animals in our care.

To the Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians, thank you for helping us organize ANOTHER successful Summer Lovin. To our donors, thank you for your support to take care of us, advertisement, and getting more people to the shelter. To our volunteers, fosters, and staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication. To those of you at home sharing our posts, thank you for helping us get the word out. AND TO OUR ADOPTERS, thank you for saving a life today.
...BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! We aren't done yet! Our intake schedule is PACKED with incoming animals, so every kennel we emptied today will be full again. We still need adopters, so we are waiving adoption fees the remainder of August to keep Summer Lovin going! If you missed us today, we are here Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 - 5:30! 🐾

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! 💖
