Still need holiday pictures of your dogs, cats, lizards, children, family, anything and everything in between? The Grinch is returning tomorrow between 12:00 and 3:00 and would love to meet you! 📸✨️Pictures are no cost, we just ask for a pet supply donation in exchange! Blankets, dog and cat toys, treats, we can make use of any new or gently used items. Aren't in a place to donate? That's okay - all are welcome! If you can't join us but would still like to donate, you can also send us a donation via our Amazon Wishlist (link below).

🐻🐾 Care Bear Alert!🐾🐻

After spending the last several weeks in a cozy foster home with their momma dog (who has been adopted!), the Care Bear Litter is making their adoption debut TODAY! Momma was a 15 pound Chihuahua/Jack Russel mix, dad is unknown. We suspect they will be medium-sized (25-30lbs) when fully grown, but they are PACKED with personality!

Don't forget - ALL adoption fees are still waived, so please come out and visit us soon! 🐶❤️🐱

UPDATE: These puppies have all found homes! Are kennels are still completely full, so please come in!

Update: We are pleased to announce the Grinch's heart has grown 3 sizes! 💚💚💚 Our staff and volunteers have been working to rehabilitate the Grinch, and he is now a valued member of our team. The Grinch has generously offered to work again THIS Saturday for holiday pictures! If you still need holiday pictures of your pets, kids, dogs, cats, lizards, grannies, anyone or anything, please feel free to stop in this Saturday between 12:00 and 3:00!

While there is no cost, we just ask for any type of pet supply donation in exchange for a picture! This can be blankets or sheets, dog food or cat food of any brand, treats, toys, you name it! Even if you can't donate, all are welcome.

ALL adoption fees are still WAIVED, so please come out, get pictures with the Grinch, adopt, and help us continue to spread holiday cheer. 🐾❄️

Due to a staff gathering, Alachua County Animal Resources will open at 1 p.m. this Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024.

The Animal Resources shelter’s regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

📢 GRINCH CAPTURED! 📢

After frolicking around the facility yesterday, the Grinch was finally captured! He was trapped using wet food, received a finger-wagging, safely loaded into an officer van, and delivered to a kennel without incident. We are confident we can rehabilitate the Grinch and that his heart will grow three sizes, especially once we reunite him with his beloved hound, Max.

Thank you for spending the weekend with us during Whisker Wonderland Adoption Drive. 💚❤️ Don't forget, adoption fees are waived all month, so there is still time to adopt!

47 ANIMALS are sleeping in loving homes tonight! We cannot thank our volunteers, fosters, staff, adopters, and supporters enough for coming out to Whisker Wonderland Adoption Drive! We will be posting all of our adoption pictures very soon! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! 🐱❤️🐶
....but wait.....there's more! We're WAIVING all adoption fees the month of December! If you missed us this weekend, there's still a lot of time to give a pet a home this holiday season. We are open Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30 - 5:30, and we always welcome public walkthroughs to see our animals and process adoptions. We hope to see you soon!

Little Jack is a blind kitten, but that doesn't stop him from finding toys to play with! 🐈‍⬛❤️ ️Jack is a staff and volunteer favorite, but as much as we enjoy spending time with him, we want nothing more than to see him find a home this holiday season.

We are open until 6:00 tonight, and all adoption fees are still waived!

Pixie is attending Whisker Wonderland Adoption Drive with her foster momma today and ready to make your heart flutter! ✨️🐶 Pixie is fully housebroken, crate trained, excellent with other dogs and kids (just no kitties), lower energy but a lovely walking companion! Her adoption fee is WAIVED today, so make sure to come out and visit her and all of our other adoptable pets!

21 pets found homes for the holidays during day 1 of our Whisker Wonderland Adoption Drive! Thank you to everyone who came out today, and we hope to see more of you tomorrow! We still have several small dogs, puppies, and kittens, and we also have so many wonderful adult animals waiting to meet you. ALL adoption fees are still waived. 🐶❤️🐱

We'll be posting all of our Santa Paws pictures soon! The Grinch will be joining us tomorrow for adoption pictures! 💚

Our friends at The Humane Society of North Central Florida are also hosting their Home for the Holidays Event at their facility on NW 6th St, right around the corner from our shelter. Make sure to check out their event, too! 🐾

Angus arrived back in October after a kind person found him. One of our officers picked Angus up and brought him here for urgent medical treatment. Angus has since made a full recovery and is thriving, even as a tripod boy! His tail never stops wagging, he loves to play with people and other dogs, and today, he got to meet Santa Paws 🎅🐾

Angus is one of the many adoptable pets we currently have. Adopt him at no cost this weekend during our Whisker Wonderland Adoption Drive and give this deserving puppy a home for the holidays! ❄️🐶❤️
