🥁 DRUMROLL PLEASE.... 🥁🥁🥁🥁

We are ECSTATIC to share that after THREE years at AWLMC, Mikey has been adopted! A kind and patient couple came to visit with him several times to build trust and ensure it was the right fit. We're so happy they decided to give Mikey a bona fide home. He so deserves it!

Although it was much longer than anyone wished or imagined, Mikey flourished in our shelter. Devoted volunteers spent days, weeks, months of their time building up trust and socializing Mikey, who was found in a feral colony and deemed to be friendly enough to live indoors. However, it was a LONG time before he felt safe and comfortable with humans. His roomie/buddy Bandit was a source of comfort (now also in his fur-ever home) but we knew Mikey had a long life ahead of him and so much PURRtentional. He learned to love laps, pets, play and PEOPLE.

All of this wouldn't have been possible had he been in a cage the whole time. Our environment is so valuable for transformations like these. With your support, we're able to provide a safe, warm, home-like environment for cats in our care.

👏Now Available For Adoption 👏

Hi there! I'm Dori, a shy but curious 8-year-old tortoiseshell female. I’m a bit of a quiet explorer, and it takes me some time to get comfortable around new people and places. Even after I am comfortable, I’m still very curious about everything—every new thing in the house is a mini adventure for me, and I scope out every nook and cranny there is! My namesake is Dora the Explorer after all!

I do also love being petted, and when I want attention, I’ll nudge your hand with my head to let you know it’s time for some love. While I may be a little shy, I do like to be near you on the couch or chair and will lay beside you in bed.

One of my favorite things to do is chase after wand and feather toys. There's nothing like a good chase to keep me entertained! I'm also a little chirp-meow-er, so when I want your attention, I’ll make this adorable chirping noise instead of the typical meow.

I was surrendered after me and my chihuhua/pomeranian friend in my previous home stopped getting along so I would really prefer to be your one and only. Come meet me today!
