Meet My Beloved Petunio 🧡
Many of you know Petunio’s story, but I want to share it again. One morning, I woke up to find Petu on my bed. I have no idea how he got in! He smelled terrible, but the love he radiated was undeniable. I offered him food inside the house, but he refused. Instead, he began bringing me little gifts daily while still rejecting the food indoors.
One day, he barked at me from outside, so I decided to place the food outside. He wagged his tail with such joy, jumped around, and then—without eating—left. Just a minute later, Petu returned with five more dogs! Only then did Petunio start eating. He wasn’t just looking out for himself; he wanted to ensure his friends were fed first. From that day on, it became our routine—Petunio would bring gifts and refuse to eat until his friends were fed.
It’s been over eight years since that day. Petunio is older now, but he’s still as wonderful as ever.
In this photo I took two days ago, Petu is sitting next to the first gift he ever gave me. Maybe he was trying to tell me that I’m the Lilo to his Stitch (last photo was our first photo together by ). All five dogs that Petunio brought to eat with him eventually moved in with us. We’ve shared eight beautiful years together, and Petunio remains a hero—a loyal friend and a beacon of love, Petunio is still doing amazing with us.
Sadly, neither Petunio nor his friends have had a sponsor all these years. You can’t imagine how much it would mean if you visited our website and considered sponsoring one of our rescued animals, even if it’s just $1. Every bit helps! (Comment below for the sponsorship/ Patreon link, and I’ll send it to you 🧡)
