Have you seen this photo making its way across the internet? Whether it’s real or not, what stands out are the comments from people moved to tears ( slide )—yet they overlook the reality that these cows will be soon killed for their consumption.
It’s incredible how we can be so empathetic about certain things and yet so selfish when our own desires take priority.
Asking if they all are safe knowing they are going to kill them because is a pleasure for them to eat animals , is so weird.

Meet My Beloved Petunio 🧡

Many of you know Petunio’s story, but I want to share it again. One morning, I woke up to find Petu on my bed. I have no idea how he got in! He smelled terrible, but the love he radiated was undeniable. I offered him food inside the house, but he refused. Instead, he began bringing me little gifts daily while still rejecting the food indoors.

One day, he barked at me from outside, so I decided to place the food outside. He wagged his tail with such joy, jumped around, and then—without eating—left. Just a minute later, Petu returned with five more dogs! Only then did Petunio start eating. He wasn’t just looking out for himself; he wanted to ensure his friends were fed first. From that day on, it became our routine—Petunio would bring gifts and refuse to eat until his friends were fed.

It’s been over eight years since that day. Petunio is older now, but he’s still as wonderful as ever.

In this photo I took two days ago, Petu is sitting next to the first gift he ever gave me. Maybe he was trying to tell me that I’m the Lilo to his Stitch (last photo was our first photo together by ). All five dogs that Petunio brought to eat with him eventually moved in with us. We’ve shared eight beautiful years together, and Petunio remains a hero—a loyal friend and a beacon of love, Petunio is still doing amazing with us.

Sadly, neither Petunio nor his friends have had a sponsor all these years. You can’t imagine how much it would mean if you visited our website and considered sponsoring one of our rescued animals, even if it’s just $1. Every bit helps! (Comment below for the sponsorship/ Patreon link, and I’ll send it to you 🧡)

Mamá Jasoda and her little girls are doing well. They are taking their medicine, receiving their special food, and remain in the quarantine area. We still have a large vet bill to pay, and we face long days ahead with the need for special food, medicine, and more. We need your support. You can donate directly to our vet clinic to cover the bill in the name of the sanctuary , or you can use the link in our bio. For other options, please DM us.

On the afternoon of Thursday, March 2, our beloved Aurora left this material world, leaving our hearts broken.
In February, we discovered a malignant tumor and we have no hope.
Aurora chose to live the best three last months of her life: eating whatever she desired, sleeping in all her favorite places, and spending time with her closest human and non-human friends.
She was incredibly happy, and we awaited her time with her.
She passed away surrounded by her caregivers and loved ones, receiving kisses, hugs, and applause that honored her bravery in facing her illness with great joy.
Aurora continued to teach us wonderful things, even in her final moments.
Mi gorda hermosa , from the first day we knew that you were intelligent, you knew how to avoid danger and you chose us as your family, you made me the luckiest. I miss you so much, we will be together again, I’m sure of that

I have decided to use some photos taken by the wonderful photographer Olivia of my son Bhimal, to explain how natural veganism is. When I decided to become a mother, I was filled with excitement, thinking about teaching my son everything about veganism. I vividly remember experiencing a panic attack when I was seven months pregnant, realizing that despite dedicating my entire life to educating others about veganism, I didn’t know how to explain it to my son. How on earth was I going to do it? How could I tell my son about humans who choose to kill, cook, and, worst of all, eat animals? How could I share this horror story with him without instilling a negative view of the world and a hatred towards humans, something I neither feel nor want him to feel? The truth is, I had no idea what to do; I didn’t know how to educate my son about veganism. Fortunately, Bhimal was born in an animal sanctuary, the only child in the world with such luck. He was literally born in a water birth inside the sanctuary. I chose a home birth because I was traumatized by the separation of non-human mothers from their babies to steal their milk. I witnessed those mothers cry, and I couldn’t bear the thought of my son being separated from me for even a moment. Bhimal came this world after a long and beautiful birth. Growing up, Bhimal saw animals as his equals; he doesn’t pity them or view them as inferior. Instead, he respects them. (Continue in comments)

Is with heavy heart that I have to share that our beloved Juanito has left this material world.

For my beautiful baby:

You left on February 25, in my special month of February, during a leap year. I remember holding you as a playful baby in my grandfather’s apartment. Cleaning you after p**p, your tail sticking to p**p, and frequent baths were part of those days. Laughter echoed when you played with Sikhandi, the cat, who often fell off tables and was the most funny thing for you. One day…that person took you away from the place I have you safe, and I thought I will never see you again, but fate brought you back in a bad state—unable to walk, malnourished, and sad.

Yet, we fought together, destiny had us united, we were always united, You wanted to live, savor fruits, enjoy in the sun, and embrace the company of other animals. Regardless of species, you cherished life, like we all do.

Traveling when I have to work hard separated us time to time and your calls in my head and my heart haunted me, I confess to you that I am also afraid when I travel, and that I don’t like being separated from you or your brothers and sisters.

You waited with pure love, making me feel respected, cared for, and loved, you give me what others took from you.

Here at the sanctuary you started to walk , you realize you were finally free, you love tour days and you give too much to the kids who came to learn from you , they love you!

You were so so so loved, those beautiful ears, colorful nose, perfect eyes, each part of you was perfection, your voice calling, Shuri always curious about you, the love you give to all the volunteers and staff,

Forgive me if I failed, please forgive me.

Now, I envision yourself free, running, jumping, and reuniting with Sikhandi.

We’ll meet again in better times.

I still feel your nose touching mind, together for the eternity.

I love you in deep ways that I can’t describe with words, I miss you already, Mi chanchito hermoso

P.S: The next days I will post a lot about him, Juanito like all the animals want to live happy and free and I want people know more and more about how amazing they are.

Our beloved Mamà has followed in the footsteps of her partner, our dear Papà, and has departed from her body today. She left this world surrounded by her caregivers—those of us who love her infinitely.
We knew that the passing of her beloved Papà would further impact her immune system, and yesterday, during x-rays, we discovered that one of her lungs had stopped working.

Dear Mamà, you taught us wonderful things! You came to us after enduring terrible abuse by humans, yet you gave us all your love. Thank you so much 💖. We love you dearly!

Our dear Papá departed from his body yesterday afternoon. At over 3 years old, Papá had reached advanced adulthood for a rat. In his final moments, he embraced his beloved Mamá and enjoyed her porridge with happiness. When it became apparent that he was about to pass away, and we don’t wanting him to suffer, our veterinarian administered complete anesthesia until his last breath. Papá came to us as one of the victims of animal exploitation in the markets, along with his beloved Mamá and their 4 children. After being sterilized, he spent the remainder of his days with his family. Dear Papá, you will be greatly missed. We love you and will always remember you. 💓
All animals deserve our respect and the right to have an amazing life without any form of abuse.
Please, Go Vegan

As we bid farewell to our cherished Juanito, the oldest pig in the sanctuary, just a few days from his final departure, we remember every aspect of him – his beautiful body, perfect ears, fantastic smile, intelligence, and the way he enjoy moments at the sanctuary.
Reflect on how he endured abuse, abandonment, and pain, yet chose to persevere until he found solace in my arms, arms that are made to protect . Despite Juanito’s failing heart, an inevitable part of his life is coming, I can’t about the pain in my heart, for his extraordinary presence makes me wish to embrace him eternally.
Juanito, know that you are deeply loved.
Mama is with you forever.

Our beloved Dharma has leave her body. She was very young, only 8 years old, always calm and great with other animals, watching always everything around her. During our routine blood tests every 6 months, Dharma suddenly shows very ill, showing no prior signs. Despite various treatments, her health deteriorated really fast within a week ( this photo is her last photo, very recent) and we couldn’t save her. Dharma passed away in the arms of Ekala, who bid her farewell with kisses and hugs.
Beloved Dharma, our cherished furry friend, our little seal, we miss you deeply. We had hoped for 10 more years with you, but luck was not on our side. Thank you for everything.
I’m sure we will see each other again

Promoting awareness about animal abuse and fostering empathy towards non-human animals should serve as the foundation for numerous educational centers. These centers exist to eradicate ignorance and reveal harsh realities, so why overlook the issue of animal abuse? We allocate a significant portion of our resources, time, and energy to our educational programs, which continue to expand daily. While we acknowledge that no sanctuary can rescue every animal worldwide, through education and heightened awareness, we aim to help for real all animals and ultimately close sanctuaries because we are not going to be necessary. This is the vision — a vegan future.

10/24/2023

It took me a while to write this post, as there’s so much behind it and so many changes. Our beloved Gatokasa, Musaka’s twin brother, has left his body. Gatok was the first dog in my entire rescue history who has bitten me (I have only been bitten by two dogs). That day, more than 16 years ago, we rescued 13 dogs. They all lived in a bathroom, rescued by a person who lost control and said she’d never say NO to a rescue. In the end, she ended up mistreating everyone behind a good intention. His brother Musaka was born with one deformed leg, and the other had been fractured at an early age. Today he walks on two legs on one side. Gatok was healthier and more lively, but he was diagnosed with heart problems a year ago and was on lifelong medical treatment. He was also beginning a senile stage. When we rescued them, it took us more than 6 years to gain their complete trust. It was very gratifying to see them trust again, to know that they felt protected.

Friends, the sanctuary has entered a stage where the animals we rescued more than 18 years ago are beginning to leave. We are nervous and scared, but we know it’s a natural process. They are older, have completed their cycle, and achieved their well-deserved freedom. They helped a community understand veganism and respect it, opening their eyes to a new reality. They have been the true heroes and the true victims. Possibly the posts in the next two years will be about many animals leaving us , especially about dogs, most of which are between 15 and 18 years old, and some large animals. My hands are shaking as I write this.

Beloved Gatokasa, your name was taken from one of the sons of the Pandavas, a key figure in the Battle of Kurukshetra (Mahabharata), famous for being loyal and brave, just like you were. We love you, honor you, miss you, and we are forever thankful. FLY HIGH, BABY, WITH ALL YOUR POWERS. 🙏🐾❤️

Vani is already 4 years old. Four years of being brave, four years of working hard to heal, four years of bringing only joy, four years of freedom, four years of love, four years of being a diva, four years of having great self-esteem, four years of this world teaching us that animals are someone and not something.

1. The day she was rescued on her way to the sanctuary.
2. Our first night together.
3. Her eyes were completely blinded, filled with blood.
4. In her crib.
5. A nap.
6. Having breakfast.
7. Her legs were broken from birth.
8. Sleeping in her crib.
9. Chasing me everywhere.
10. Healing her paws.

A rescued unicorn 🦄
Don Ligio each day more handsome.
I never imagined that Syama would become such good friends with Don Ligio. They're like peanut butter and jelly; now, they do everything together. Syama is very sociable, but she always faced rejection from her friends. I love seeing her this happy.

Horses form friendships within the herd, and these bonds can be quite strong. They groom each other, stand close together, and provide mutual protection. These friendships are essential for their mental and emotional well being since they thrive on social interaction.
