ny boxes, nibble the catnip growing along the perimeter, or just nap in a sunbeam while having a bit of fresh air. We use EdenPure heaters, which keep the shelter at a comfy 68 degrees, and are cool to the touch, and impossible to tip over (and quite economical, too!) In summer, just like us, they enjoy the AC. There are plush beds and blankets for snuggling, lots of toys, and a stereo for relaxing catmusic. These guys have it good while they wait for their forever homes...
We are located on private property, so visiting the shelter to find your new best buddy is by appointment only. We operate "THE BIG ONE" Thrift Store, located at 10840 US Hwy 20 in Galena. Full of treasures from clothing in all sizes for women, men, and children, to household necessities, furniture, small appliances, craft supplies, books, vintage items, artwork, electronics, hardware, tools, automotive things, sports equipment, pet supplies, greeting cards, and much, much more, all at rock-bottom prices. All the profits go to directly benefit our furry little residents. Our current hours are 11am - 5pm Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and the first Sunday of every month from 11a, til 5pm. We are always closed on Tuesdays and Wednesday. We will also either close early or not open at all if the weather is bad - excessive heat, or winter storms.
