August 21, 2024

To all my cherished clients and friends,

"When one door closes, another opens."

After 34 years here in Gales Ferry taking care of your four legged friends, it is time for a new adventure.

As of September 1, 2024, I will no longer be operating Gales Ferry Animal Hospital. But rest assured - I am not done practicing medicine! I will be continuing to see patients as a new associate at Montville Animal Hospital across the river.

All your petโ€™s records will be coming with me and you will now benefit from having 3 doctors seeing appointments 6 days a week. You can expect the same level of quality medicine and excellent customer service from the owners and staff at Montville Animal Hospital.

I look forward to being able to continue being your petโ€™s trusted veterinarian and I thank you for your loyalty for all these years.

Warmest Regards,

Cynthia L. Herron, DVM

It is heartwarming to see all of the "Thank You" signs as I travel to and from work each day. I would like to add a sincere THANK YOU to all of our beloved clients for your understanding and patience. ๐Ÿฅฐ It is a slow and frustrating method of conducting business by curbside fashion. It takes longer for check-in, phone conversations, and check-out procedures. It also is stressful to be detached from your pets during their veterinary visits. I can assure you that we will resume normal interactions as soon as it is deemed medically safe to do so.

In the meantime, we are very grateful that all of you have shown us consideration and kindness. We remain dedicated to the health and safety of your pets.

Sincerely,

Cynthia L. Herron, DVM

We are sending you a heartfelt, safe-distancing HELLO! We pray that you stay healthy through the COVID-19 pandemic. Our office is open Monday through Saturday with some necessary reduction in hours. We are providing curbside service to minimize traffic within the lobby to protect our staff as much as possible. Please call us at (860) 464-7286 for more details. We are privileged and grateful to still be able to provide service for our beloved patients and clients!

Veterinary hospitals have officially been classified as an essential business in the state of Connecticut. In accordance with the recommendations of the American Veterinary Medical Association, we will be limiting our office calls to necessary visits only. We also will be restricting our lobby traffic. If you wish to bring your pet in for a wellness exam, vaccinations, or non-critical conditions, please postpone your visit for the next two weeks. This may be further extended depending upon the Covid-19 progression in our area. We will conduct business as remotely as possible, and will continue to provide medications and prescriptions.

Upon arrival in our parking lot, please call our front desk to receive further instructions. Our number is 860-464-7286.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and cooperation during this unprecedented health situation. Please stay safe and healthy!

The staff of Gales Ferry Animal Hospital are doing everything possible to preserve a healthy environment for our clients, patients and ourselves in order to be able to continue providing care for your pets. We ask that our clients help us in the following ways:

Please limit the number of handlers to one person per pet, and one pet in the exam room at a time. This will help to maintain the social distancing advocated by health officials.

We ask that children remain at home or in the car with a caretaker and not enter the hospital.

Lastly, if you have any signs of illness, please reschedule your appointment after you have recovered.

At this time, our hours will remain the same and not be reduced. We hope that everyone is able to remain healthy and avoid exposure to this COVID-19 virus!

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Ticks are still a concern in Connecticut even with it being January. Make sure youโ€™re continuing your flea and tick preventatives and getting heart worm tests that also test for tick borne diseases.

Although the weather will start to get colder this weekend, doctors are saying ticks are going to be a problem.
