God works in mysterious ways!
Not gonna lie I was pretty freaked out her being stuck at the airport and me 3.5 hours away but Amber saved the day!
Something happened to me yesterday. Well, last night. I was at the laundromat trying to get my clothes for the week done and I had to give someone a ride home real quick. It’s ok. My clothes won’t be done for a while. I get a phone call from a rescuer. It’s 9-1-1 we need help. We need you to pick up a dog from the airport in Millington and take her home and take her onto the Nashville area tomorrow. Ok, fine. I’m always there to help in a panic. On my way, I stopped back by and got my laundry out of the dryers. Luckily, my laundry appeared to be all still there, as it had been off for a few minutes. And off I went towards the airport. I get not 2 miles from the airport and my brand new vehicle I’m in, shuts off. I look down and I’m out of gas. Luckily, I thought quickly and realized I had downhill to go the gas station. I coasted in there and there was a pump open. I had gas money. I was just busy busy today. I had gone to the ER to get my arm/hand that I had been having pain in for days checked out. I had another rescue emergency earlier in the day. I’m saying all of this to say this. It may sound like a crappy day. And it could have been. All depending on how you look at it. Today, I made a rescue contact and probably a new good friend. Also, I got to help a dog I wouldn’t have been able to help had their emergency not happened with the other transport. I guess you could say I had the best bad luck today. Meet Lanning. She’s going to be one of my riders to the Nashville area today. Yes, she’s leaning on my freshly dried clothes. Am I mad? Nope. She was smelling them and maybe they reminded her of a sweet former life when she had a home. They say God works in mysterious ways. And I have always believed that.
