An announcement on behalf of Dr. Shelton to French Town Vet Clinic clients: One of our long time employees will be leaving. Amy Kiser has submitted the following:

Dear Clients and Friends,

Iā€™m writing to let you know that after 24 incredible years at French Town Vet Clinic, Iā€™ll be stepping down from my position. Since I was a little girl, this has been my dream job, and it has been an honor and a joy to work with such a fantastic team and, especially, with Dr. Angela Shelton.

Over the years, Iā€™ve had the privilege of caring for so many wonderful pets and forming meaningful connections with each of you. Your trust in me to care for your beloved animals has meant the world to me.

This decision has not come easily. I feel that a new chapter in my life is beginning, and I believe that itā€™s time for me to take a different career path. While Iā€™m excited about what the future holds, leaving behind the daily interactions with you and your pets is truly bittersweet.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and for allowing me to be a part of your lives. I will always treasure the memories and the relationships Iā€™ve built over these years.

Follow these tips to keep your pets staying cool during the summer heat! ā˜€ļø šŸ¶

ā€¢Provide plenty of fresh water: Make sure your pets have access to clean and fresh water at all times to prevent dehydration.

ā€¢Limit exercise during the hottest parts of the day: Avoid strenuous activities with your pets when the sun is at its peak to prevent overheating.

ā€¢Create a shady spot: Set up a shaded area in your yard where your pets can rest and escape the direct sunlight.

ā€¢Never leave your pet in a parked car: Even with the windows cracked, the inside of a car can quickly reach dangerous temperatures, leading to heatstroke.

ā€¢Use cooling mats or frozen treats: Help your pets cool down by providing them with cooling mats to lie on or frozen treats to enjoy.

ā€¢Groom your pets: Regular grooming can help remove excess fur and prevent overheating. Consider scheduling a haircut for long-haired pets.

ā€¢Be mindful of hot pavement: Asphalt and concrete can get extremely hot and burn your pet's paws. Try to walk them on grassy areas or use booties to protect their feet.

ā€¢Watch for signs of heatstroke: Symptoms include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and vomiting. If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet to a cool place and contact your veterinarian immediately.
