Meet Pilgrim and Pecan
These sweet, playful kittens would be so thankful to have a seat at your table (and lap) this year. The black & white cutie is a female (“Pilgrim”) and the tabby & white is a male (“Pecan”). They’re about 7 weeks old. The adoption fee of $125 includes the spay or neuter, vaccines, deworming, microchip and leukemia & kitty aids testing (both negative). It's Fun Fact Friday! This Friday we would like to spotlight Dr. Provo

Dr. Meghan Provo has had a lifelong passion for veterinary medicine, which she fulfilled when she graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Since then, she has practiced across the Midwest, including Indianapolis, Chicago, and now Columbus.

Dr. Provo enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular love for surgery, soft tissue procedures, and dentistry. She also values client education, taking the time to understand each family, and providing personalized care. Additionally, Dr. Provo is passionate about inspiring future veterinarians and frequently speaks to children about careers in the field, organizing programs to teach them how to care for their pets.

Dr. Provo lives with her human children, Kade and Riley. She also has three fur children. Vida, a 15-year-old boxer mix, is her forever companion, P3 is the majestic feline lord of the manor, and Gravy is the chaotic cat goblin, always getting into trouble. Her favorite activity is making memories with her kids and finding different weekend adventures they can do together.

Fun fact - Dr. Provo is an identical twin and her children are fraternal twins! A lifelong nerd, she hosts Dungeons and Dragons games for her family and friends, paints miniature figures, and cosplays at the Galaxycon here in Columbus.

Last week, our Team had the honor of participating in the annual Ohio House Rabbit Rescue Midwest BunFest event.
This event is a unique opportunity for Bunnies and their Human family. There are vendor booths with “everything bunny” from Bandanas, Jewelry, and Enrichment Products to Paintings, Fabric, and Yarn crafts. There are even bunny Glamour Shots and a bunny Spa. One of our team members volunteered and worked in the Chillaxabun Lounge where buns could go for some quiet time if the excitement of the bunny fun became overwhelming.
A large portion of the patients we see are rabbits, and we love being a part of this event supporting rescue, veterinary education, and healthy and safe options for the well-being of bunnies!

🐰This is the week!! This is the week!! 🐶We are Celebrating our Veterinary Technicians!!🐱
Behind the scenes, this is the team we rely on to take X-rays, monitor surgery patients, take blood pressure, do laser treatments, give fluids, tend to hospitalized patients, all sorts of testing of blood, eye pressure, and ear swabs just to name a few.
These team members get in positions that probably inspired the creators of the Twister Game to keep your furry family member comfortable for a blood draw.
They talk in baby talk and sing a sweet song to calm nerves when a patient is waking up from surgery.
They recognize what is needed for many situations from a toenail trim on an anxious pup, to a major critical case needing immediate life-saving measures.
They have wanted to be an animal nurse since the age of 3 and have studied their tails off to achieve this dream and meet the qualifications of Registered Veterinary Technician. It’s their purpose and they wouldn’t have it any other way!

It’s Fun Fact Friday and we would like to introduce our new team member Faythe.

Faythe’s journey in the veterinary field showcases her dedication and passion for animals. Starting at a kennel helped her discover her love for working with pets, leading her to a customer service role at Banfield, where she gained valuable experience. Her hard work paid off when she transitioned to a veterinary assistant position and eventually pursued veterinary technician school, graduating this year and passing the national exam.

Outside of her career, Faythe enjoys reading fantasy novels, hiking, and training with her three dogs. She also values time spent journaling and relaxing with her family. A fun fact about her: she was a standout athlete in high school, earning first-team all-city honors as a pitcher for her softball team. This mix of skills and interests makes her a well-rounded and passionate professional, and we are excited to have her on our team.

Our office will be closed today from 1:30 -4 p.m. for our team meeting. Zoetis will be here to talk about flea and heartworm prevention. All pets should be on prevention year around. Be sure to talk with our team members to be sure your pets are protected fully.

Another year of our team participating in Grove City’s Arts in the Alley Parade. We love giving back to the community and we like to think the dogs are a popular part of the parade for the many spectators. We also like to show off a couple wonderful dogs up for adoption through Colony Cats (& dogs). Peanut & McGee are two wonderful little dogs that need their forever homes (see them in the pics). Thank you to our wonderful clients for supporting our decision to close for 1/2 day so we can walk in the parade every year.

It’s Fun Fact Friday and we would like to introduce our new team member Lydia!

Born and raised in the charming town of Circleville, Ohio, Lydia has been an animal lover her whole life! She is a proud dog mom and adopted her two dogs Archer and Jitterbug from Columbus State while studying in their Veterinary Technician Program. She graduated from the program in 2021.
When she's not caring for your fur babies, you can catch Lydia cheering on her favorite teams – the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Ohio State Buckeyes! But that's not all! She’s also a true crime enthusiast, enjoys art, and absolutely loves anything pumpkin.
We’re excited to have Lydia on board, and we know your pets will love her too!

Lydia’s fun fact is in high school she won first place in an art competition and her artwork was on display in Washington DC.

Since a young age, Mickayla has harbored a deep love for pets, finding joy and companionship in her furry friends. This passion for animals is matched by her creative flair, expressed through a love for drawing and painting, which allows her to capture the beauty of the world around her. She is an avid reader and says she finds solace and inspiration in books. She also enjoys unwinding with relaxing movies that offer an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Her appreciation for the outdoors is evident in her love for camping, where she immerses herself in nature and relishes the simplicity of outdoor living. Whether at home with a book or out in the wilderness, she embraces life with curiosity and creativity.

Mickayla’s fun fact is that she came in 3rd place for her age group when she ran a 1/2 marathon.
