Who needs a new pup to love?!

The Galveston Island Humane Society is participating in Clear The Shelters month!💜💜💜

Every Tuesday and Thursday this month our shelter wide adoption fees will be $20.00! Every other day of the month adopters will get to spin the wheel for adoption savings at the front desk.

Clear The Shelters is such a great way for GIHS to increase adoptions in hopes of creating more space for the animals in our care while offering discounted adoption fees to our community!

If there is a pet that you have had your eye on, come down to the shelter for a meet and greet!💜

The Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade will take place on Sunday, February 19, 2023, and steps off at 1:30 pm.

Check-in and on-site registration will begin at Noon on 21st and Harborside at Pier 21.

Sponsors, walkers, and donors will all help us produce a successful event that will help so many. Proceeds from this walk will support our community programs including; emergency care, spay/neuter assistance, and vaccination and microchip clinics.

Registration is "per pet" and they may bring their favorite people! Event shirts are not guaranteed for late or on site registrations. Rabies vaccines are required for all cats and dogs. Please bring proof

We all had fun at the Surf Dogs competition, a fundraiser for the Humane Society. And one of our frequent guests, Rue, was the Big Kahuna, Winner! Bohdi & Sam competed well too!

Attention Galveston Island animal lovers! GIHS has reached an extreme and overwhelming intake of animals. We are currently busting at the seams.. We are looking for adopters that are ready to take in a new family member as well as foster parents. If either of these has been on your mind, now is the time!! We desperately need your help!

We will be going live from the shelter today to show off some of the sweet faces that we have at the moment! Stay tuned!

Our local Humane Society is overloaded with dogs! We are going to help 'foster' some pups to save their lives! If you can adopt or foster or know any rescue groups that can help, NOW would be great. Please jump in to help if you can!
