The Rotary Club of Lindale was chartered in the mid forties, by a small group of Lindale business men.

They have existed for over 60 years, with a rich heritage of supporting the Lindale community with a numerous list of distinguished accomplishments.

INDALE ROTARY CLUB
MERCHANT OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Lindale Rotary Club is requesting nominations for its "Merchant of the Year Award" which will be presented at the annual Chamber of Commerce Awards & Installation Banquet in April.
The award has been presented annually since 1991 to a Lindale area merchant who exemplifies the tenets of Rotary International set forth in the service organization's "Four Way Test". The nominees for the honor must have exhibited the high ethical standards called for in Rotary's Four Way Test in their day to day business operations. Although some of the previous winners have been business owners, it is not necessary to own the business to qualify.
Nominations should be in writing and explain why the individual is being nominated and how that individual practices the principals outlined in the Four Way Test. The individual nominated does not have to be a Rotarian to be honored.
THE FOUR-WAY TEST

1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Pam Burton brought our speaker, Debbie Lascelles director of Love Mercy International (name comes from
Micah 6:8). Love Mercy is a sister ministry of Youth With A Mission. Bennett Moore also joined Debbie and shared about the Love Mercy’s youth ministry and how it has impacted his own son. Debbie has a passion to work with vulnerable people and she has an extensive background in developing nations and serving people in need. This ministry works both globally and locally. Most recently they’ve been able to help those in North Carolina after the devastation of Hurricane Helene. The first speaker of 2023 was our very own Don Hines, Store Manager of our Lindale Walmart! We already loved Don, but got to know him even better today hearing of his years of experience with the company and now celebrating 41 YEARS with Walmart! (And we got to see the Wal~mart cheer!📣) Don began his career at the young age of 17 and has worked his way up, relocating to different cities. We were blessed to gain him in Lindale when they opened here October 2005. He shared with us that the Lindale Walmart will undergo a remodel this year. How exciting! His people skills, leadership, customer service and awesome work ethic are to be admired and appreciated. Thank you, Don Hines, for what you mean to us and to Lindale!
