Jovi came to Garber Shelter back in August after his owner went to a nursing home. It took months of transition from an initial hunger strike, not coming out of the doghouse, no eye contact, to finally eating out your hand, enjoying being petted, and walking on a leash to where he then could be moved to boarding. Jovi finally found rescue! He is in a home based facility for older dogs where he receives constant love and attention from volunteers and a trainer who are all working to help him start a new life in finding a forever home. It was a bitter sweet after spending so many months together but grateful he is getting the second chance he deserves. He is such a sweet boy but oh so shy! Hang in there Jovi! You got this!

Beauty arrived in snowy Wisconsin this morning and it’s looking like her meet and greet went well. Her life on chain is behind her and she now has a fur sister to show her the good life. Thank you for sponsoring her boarding until transport, for sponsoring her spay, The Groom Closet Pet Center Jonie Ehrman for giving her TLC and a warm place to stay out of the shelter, Enid SPCA for medical/health cert, for transporting for spay, and LMR Rescue for saving her. Thank you all for saving her.

Garber Shelter freedom ride ~ New name to start his new life! Keanu washed off his former life with a bath at tractor supply, shopped for treats, met some new friends, had his medical and settling in nice and warm at Enid SPCA Thank you for saving him! He is such a sweet loving boy!

Behind on UPDATES so ~ On this Thanksgiving Day we are especially grateful for the rescue partners Enid SPCA and Lucky Mutts Rescue for saving so many rural outdoor Garber Shelter dogs. Emma, Charlie, Buck, Erik, Coco, Heath, Pepper and the 8 Spice puppies say Thank You for saving them and Happy Thanksgiving to All! 🍂🍁

Pepper was at Garber shelter for months and was so grateful to finally leave Saturday. He wagged his tail all the way through Tractor Supply for a much needed bath and had his vaccines through ‘Rescue Waggin’ Enid SPCA He’s staying warm and pampered in boarding at the The Groom Closet Pet Center until his transport to foster based rescue to Wisconsin. Thank you all for saving him!
